Muong Chien commune currently has 22 art troupes, each with 10 or more members, mainly women's union members, youth union members and the elderly. With a passion for culture and art, members contribute or mobilize social resources to buy props and costumes; at the same time, they compose and perform their own singing and dancing performances imbued with national cultural identity.
A typical example is Bon village, which has established and effectively maintained two art troupes, associated with the development of community tourism . Ms. Lo Thi Phuong, the village art troupe leader, said: The troupe has 10 members who are talented and passionate about culture and art, participating in labor and production during the day; at night they focus on practicing Thai ethnic dances, imbued with the identity of their homeland. The troupe often performs during village and commune exchanges and serves tourists.
As a member of the Bon village art troupe playing the Tinh Tau, Mr. Dieu Chinh Kien shared: Since I was a child, my grandparents taught me how to play the Tinh Tau. Joining the art troupe gives me more opportunities to exchange and learn. We will continue to teach the younger generation, preserving and promoting the national cultural identity.
In addition, the commune's sports movement has also developed strongly with soccer and volleyball teams in most villages, attracting both men and women to participate. Ms. Sung Thi Tang, Khau Pum village, shared: Previously, only men played sports, but now there is also a women's volleyball team. Every afternoon, after work and production hours, the women invite each other to practice volleyball, the atmosphere is very exciting.
Along with that, Muong Chien commune also focuses on investing in building facilities for culture, arts and sports associated with new rural construction. Up to now, all 21 villages have standard cultural houses, fully equipped with speakers, radios, musical instruments, tables and chairs for community activities and cultural, arts and sports movements. Mr. Bui Dinh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: In many villages, culture, arts and sports have become indispensable spiritual food after each working day. Teams, groups and clubs are places for activities, bonding, creating a joyful atmosphere, encouraging labor competition, building a better life.
