Further improve the quality of healthcare

Along with the breakthrough and acceleration of economic development, Quang Ninh always pays attention to social security work, especially paying attention and prioritizing resources for investment in education and health development. In particular, to further improve people's health care, the Quang Ninh Health sector has been constantly innovating, applying science and technology, and deploying specialized techniques to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment to serve the people.

Identifying the application of science and technology as the key to improving the quality of healthcare , in addition to strengthening training and retraining of human resources, the Quang Ninh Health sector always encourages medical facilities and hospitals to study and deploy new technologies and techniques in medical examination and treatment. In particular, in 2024, nearly 600 scientific and technological tasks at all levels of the Health sector were assessed, approved and accepted. Thanks to that, many advanced, difficult, specialized and modern techniques in all fields have been updated right in Quang Ninh.

From the achievements of applying science and technology, in the past year, medical units in the whole Quang Ninh province have deployed 116 specialized medical techniques in all specialties; reducing the referral rate by 3.57%, the lowest in the Red River Delta region. Notably, Quang Ninh has 3 specialized medical units: Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, Provincial General Hospital, and Bai Chay Hospital. These are all units that have deployed a series of high-level and difficult techniques of the central government right at the unit, helping people feel secure in receiving treatment right at the facility, reducing time and costs, and increasing access to high-quality medical services.

Many specialized techniques are deployed by hospitals in Quang Ninh province to improve medical examination and treatment for people.

In particular, Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital and Quang Ninh General Hospital have prepared conditions for organ harvesting and transplantation, the most advanced techniques of modern medicine, right at the unit. Meanwhile, at Bai Chay Hospital, 80% of open surgeries have been replaced by minimally invasive interventions, thereby significantly improving the quality of treatment for patients.

Quang Ninh is also one of the provinces and cities in the country that has completed early the construction and implementation of electronic medical records for the entire population, applying artificial intelligence in diagnosis, and 100% of medical examination and treatment facilities applying electronic medical records.

Up to this point, Quang Ninh's health indicators have all met the set plan and exceeded the national targets, such as: 57.7 hospital beds/10,000 people; 17 doctors/10,000 people; 7 university pharmacists/10,000 people; 25 nurses/10,000 people.

With the achieved results, the Quang Ninh Health sector determined to continue to further improve medical capacity, examination and treatment quality at all medical facilities at all levels; attract high-quality human resources, promote scientific research, international cooperation, in order to access and deploy many advanced and difficult techniques right in the locality; strive to become an organ donation center and have the capacity to perform organ transplants by 2025.

Along with that, continue to deploy solutions to consolidate and invest in completing infrastructure and equipment to ensure synchronization and modernity for the health system; exploit more strongly resources from artificial intelligence, big data, and digital medical records systems to become a powerful arm to help improve treatment efficiency, so that people can benefit from high-quality medical services right at the facility.

Continuously improving the quality of health care for the people, striving to make Quang Ninh a high-quality medical center of the Northeast region, the Quang Ninh Health sector actively innovates, develops comprehensively, concretizes scientific research tasks, applies many specialized techniques, thereby continuing to further improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people.
