Deputy Director of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs Nguyen Xuan An Viet delivered the opening speech of the contest.
According to statistics from the National Traffic Safety Committee, traffic accidents involving motorbikes and mopeds account for nearly 70% of all accidents each year. One of the main reasons for this alarming situation is low traffic awareness. Many people do not really understand and strictly comply with the Road Traffic Law, and do not have a firm grasp of the rules and skills to safely operate their vehicles.
Therefore, the contest aims to raise awareness of compliance with the Road Traffic Law and safe motorbike driving skills for students, contributing to limiting accidents and reducing damage to people and property for students as well as the community.
Teams participating in the skit competition
Through the contest, the Deputy Director hopes that each student will form and further improve their awareness of obeying road traffic laws, behavioral culture when participating in traffic, have skills to safely drive motorbikes and scooters and will become active propagandists for friends, family and everyone in society.
The teams went through two rounds of competition with sections related to the theory of the Road Traffic Law, skits on traffic safety and safe motorcycle driving practice. Not only participating in the competitions, the students also learned and improved their knowledge to protect the environment by using green, environmentally friendly products. Representatives of the Vietnam Insurance Association also introduced regulations on compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners when participating in traffic.
Students take the safe driving test
Along with that, to contribute to ensuring safety for students when participating in road traffic, on this occasion, Honda Vietnam Company also organized free motorcycle oil changes for students of Hong Duc University.
Through the contest, students were educated, raised awareness and skills about traffic safety and practiced safe motorcycle driving.
The Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the Vinh University team.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize to Vinh University; 2 Second Prizes to Hong Duc University; Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Third Prize to Hanoi Medical University (Thanh Hoa campus); Thanh Hoa Industrial College, along with prizes for the best skit and the best motorbike driver.
