Images of clean and safe food production and business models and reliable food sales addresses have been widely introduced, contributing to guiding people's consumption behavior.
Across the streets, markets and residential areas, more than 1,144 banners, slogans, posters and 69,150 leaflets were hung and distributed, conveying the message “Joining hands for food safety” with advice on how to distinguish genuine products, paying attention to checking labels and expiry dates before buying. At the same time, 21 mobile propaganda sessions took place in remote communes, helping to promote awareness for those who have difficulty accessing mass media information.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Son, Tan Phu village, Tan Lap commune, Dam Ha district said: Through information about food safety updated on television, radio, and through residential area meetings, we, the people, know how to choose foods with clear origins and ensure safety, so people are more secure.
In the first 5 months of 2025, there were 54 conferences and food safety knowledge training courses with 5,781 delegates participating, including managers, owners of production and business establishments and consumers.

Publicizing the violating establishments is also a measure to warn people and businesses. In the first 5 months of the year, 142 organizations and individuals were administratively fined with a total amount of up to 1,548,050,000 VND; the list is regularly posted on the provincial electronic information portal and the Communications Center, helping consumers proactively avoid addresses that do not ensure safe hygiene conditions.
In particular, the “Food Safety Action Month” launched by the Central Steering Committee and actively implemented by the province from April 15 to May 15, 2025 has become an effective propaganda campaign. More than 195 provincial, district and communal inspection teams have inspected 3,256 establishments, detected and handled 339 organizations and individuals with a total fine of more than 1 billion VND; 59 cases of destroying poor quality food products worth more than 767 million VND... showing the strictness in law enforcement. This strong dissemination has contributed to helping the community grasp the process of selecting, processing and preserving safe food.
Thanks to extensive communication, in the first 5 months of the year, Quang Ninh province did not record any large-scale food poisoning cases involving more than 30 people or any food-borne diseases.
Not only stopping at immediate results, Quang Ninh also aims to raise awareness by building safe food production areas, connecting closed supply chains from farm to table. Many cooperatives and enterprises have invested in traceability systems, applied VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, providing clean vegetables and high-quality seafood products to the domestic and export markets. Identifying and promoting reputable addresses helps people feel secure in their choices, while encouraging small-scale establishments to improve their production processes.
Through the media, many people proactively choose to buy food at supermarkets, specialized stores that meet standards; collective kitchens, food services, and businesses that are aware of improving hygiene standards... This helps Quang Ninh firmly move towards the goal of forming the habit of choosing, consuming and producing safe and sustainable food, for the health of each person and the future development of the province.
