At the same time, it coordinated to organize training courses and professional training for the team in charge of the food industry as well as fresh food suppliers.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Duong Minh Quang - Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op - affirmed: "Saigon Co.op is determined not to trade in goods of unknown origin or of poor quality. All goods in the system must meet food safety standards and undergo strict supervision from input to distribution."
Saigon Co.op currently applies a strict quality control process throughout the supply chain, from production, harvesting, transportation to distribution. At each point of sale, the quality management department periodically checks storage conditions, temperature, packaging specifications, and uses specialized equipment to evaluate product quality.
In addition, the unit also conducts random inspections through testing centers designated by the authorities. At the same time, Saigon Co.op also deploys mobile testing vehicles to periodically monitor the quality of goods, ensuring that goods are quality controlled and safe before being distributed to business units in the Saigon Co.op system.
Committed to protecting consumer health
In 2025, Saigon Co.op will continue to promote the raw material planning program, focusing on localities with potential for agricultural production. This is considered a strategic step to ensure stable input quality for the distribution chain, while supporting farmers to increase income and improve their livelihoods.
The program aims to develop a sustainable agricultural supply chain, enhancing cooperation between producers - retailers - consumers - management agencies.
Saigon Co.op also commits to stable consumption for units that meet the raw material area criteria and encourages suppliers to participate in the "Responsible Green Tick" program, contributing to promoting a safe - transparent - responsible supply model.
In addition, the unit coordinated with the Department of Food Safety to organize specialized training courses on Circular 17/2024/TT-BNNPTNT (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) related to food safety conditions in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. At the same time, the National Code and Barcode Center implemented specialized training on traceability, contributing to improving professional capacity for the entire system.
