The heat wave in the midlands and deltas of the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen is likely to last for many days to come, with the highest temperature reaching 37 degrees Celsius; the heat wave in the mountainous areas of the North will gradually ease.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 30, the Northern region will have hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranges from 55-65%.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen has hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 36-38 degrees Celsius, in some places over 38 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranging from 45-60%.

On the night of June 30, the mountainous areas of the North will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40 mm, some places over 60 mm; in Ha Giang alone, some places over 150 mm.

During the day and night of June 30, the Central Highlands and the South will have showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40 mm, in some places over 60 mm (thunderstorms will occur mainly in the afternoon and evening); thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas. The risk level for natural disasters due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
