Enhancing trade promotion activities for OCOP products

(DN) - Trade promotion activities, expanding domestic and export markets for OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program) are of interest and focus to Dong Nai province. Enhancing trade promotion activities associated with the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" will help local OCOP products approach and connect with potential partners and customer segments, contributing to promoting and improving the efficiency of connecting supply and demand for local products.

Specialties and OCOP products nationwide participate in product promotion and introduction

From August 14 to 20, the Southeast Region - Dong Nai Industry and Trade Fair 2025 will take place in Dong Nai. The fair is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Provincial People's Committee. This is the first national trade promotion activity held after the province's merger in Dong Nai.

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Le Hoang Tai emphasized: The fair is an opportunity to promote trade, seek business cooperation opportunities and promote linkage activities in the Southeast region in particular and the whole country in general. This is an effective bridge for the business community to access and exploit the new potentials of Dong Nai province after the merger.

The fair has about 280 booths from many provinces and cities across the country participating in promoting OCOP products and local specialties such as: Da Nang, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, An Giang , Ca Mau...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Ngan, representative of Tan Tien Clean Salt Facility (Ninh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province), shared: “Our facility brings to this fair 3-star OCOP standard salt products along with typical products processed from local salt such as: salt with stir-fried Dong leaves, salt with lemongrass, salt with shrimp, salt with perilla leaves, as well as the facility's instant dried shrimp products. Through the fair, the facility hopes to promote its products and connect with potential markets, especially in Dong Nai and the provinces and cities in the Southern region.”

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao, owner of Bao Long Binh Thuan Production Facility (Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province), said: The facility's main products currently include fermented dragon fruit juice, dried dragon fruit products... Of which, the fermented dragon fruit juice product has achieved 3-star OCOP standards. The fair is an opportunity for the facility to directly connect and find agents and distributors nationwide, as well as to enhance trade connection activities between provinces and cities after the arrangement.

Dong Nai province will deploy a general booth of the province and more than 30 separate booths of businesses in the province registered to participate, focusing on specialty products, OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program), typical rural industrial products... in the province.

The fair will feature many outstanding activities such as: Display area, introducing achievements in production of strong products, regional specialties of provinces and cities across the country; introducing industrial, agricultural, commercial products, OCOP products; contributing to attracting investment, strengthening the connection for socio-economic development of Dong Nai province and localities across the country.

Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province Vu Ngoc Long emphasized: This fair will create conditions to promote and connect trade between businesses and businesses, businesses and consumers, creating a bridge for supply and demand to meet directly to improve efficiency in trade transactions; support businesses to grasp the tastes of consumers and customers to serve the improvement, enhance product quality, develop new products... Thereby, supporting businesses in Dong Nai and provinces and cities across the country to improve their competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets, and be proactive in the process of international integration.

Developing new development potential

Organizing large fairs and exhibitions, especially national-level programs on trade promotion, will open up many opportunities for the province to promote its potential in attracting investment, trade and services in the province. This is also a driving force for the province to continue promoting investment, trade and tourism promotion activities according to key industry chains and local OCOP products...

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Le Hoang Tai shared: Dong Nai province has great potential for economic development. In particular, the Southeast Industry and Trade Fair - Dong Nai in 2025 in particular and trade promotion activities in the new situation not only create opportunities for trade connection but also contribute to helping the locality promote linkages, innovation and sustainable development in the new period.

In addition, Dong Nai is one of the leading localities in the country in developing OCOP products. The province currently has 439 products certified as OCOP, many of which meet 4 and 5 star standards. Therefore, trade promotion activities play an important role in elevating local OCOP products; supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province to develop their brands and expand their markets; as well as helping Dong Nai's strong products reach out to the world in the context of increasingly deep integration.

Director of Dong Nai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Duong Van Nhan said: In order for Dong Nai Province's investment promotion, trade and tourism promotion activities to be effective, in the coming time, the unit will continue to promote the contents and trade connection activities to promote and enhance the strengths of the locality, enhance regional connectivity... At the same time, increase the application of technology in promoting and introducing the province's investment, trade and tourism promotion programs.

Director of Nhu Hoang Agricultural Trade and Service Cooperative (Tho Son Commune, Dong Nai Province) Truong Van Thanh said: Currently, the unit's salted roasted cashew nuts have met the 4-star OCOP standard. The products have been connected to many domestic and export markets. The cooperative hopes to participate in many trade connection activities inside and outside the province, especially national trade promotion programs to connect with more major distributors, thereby developing the brand, enhancing the competitive value of local OCOP products.
