Napoli give up Garnacho, get Sterling

Napoli have identified Raheem Sterling as their top target after the Serie A champions failed to land another winger.

If an agreement is reached with Napoli, this could be an opportunity for Sterling to renew his career.

According to Football Italia , Napoli and Chelsea are in talks regarding Sterling's future. Coach Conte highly values the English striker and is willing to give the former Manchester City star a chance to rebuild his career.

Sterling is also a cheap option, suitable for Napoli's budget. Previously, Napoli had expressed interest in signing Garnacho but withdrew due to the high price. The reigning Serie A champions were unable to complete the deal to recruit Dan Ndoye from Bologna, when the striker agreed to join Nottingham Forest.

Sterling, with his vast experience in the Premier League and European competitions, is seen as a potential addition. However, he will have to prove that he still has the pace and sharpness to play at the highest level.

According to Mail Sport, Sterling has not received a clear announcement about his future, but coach Enzo Maresca has no intention of using the player next season. Chelsea are ready to let Sterling leave this summer to cut the wage bill.

At 30, the former Manchester City star has also attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen, as the German club look to rebuild after a turbulent summer. The 30-year-old has just returned to Stamford Bridge after a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal, where he scored just one goal in 28 appearances.
