New features of the press award 'For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture'

The national press award 'For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture' organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has entered its third season.

On the morning of July 24, the announcement ceremony of the national press award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture" took place. This is the third season, the press playground of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been organized, attracting a lot of attention from ministries, sectors, journalists and the public.

Unlike the first two seasons, the third national press award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture" has added content groups related to journalism, publishing, cyberspace, foreign culture and electronic information under the new management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. These are also new contents that the first and second national press award "For the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism" did not have.

Specifically, the rules of the third national press award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" emphasize the content of promoting and spreading the value of books and reading culture; the importance of books and reading culture in improving knowledge and skills, developing thinking, creativity, nurturing personality and Vietnamese people.

Communication about digital transformation in libraries aims to form a modern library network, improve the operational capacity of libraries, provide new library services to meet users' needs, contribute to improving people's knowledge, and build a learning society.

The press is responsible for spreading the message about the era of national growth; digital transformation of the press; celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (1925 - 2025).

Building a healthy cultural environment in cyberspace, arousing a sense of responsibility and national pride to gradually eliminate negative manifestations, prevent and repel "deviant" phenomena, and guide people towards truth - goodness - beauty.

Solutions to monitor and handle bad and toxic information; solutions to prevent and combat the dissemination of obscene cultural products on cyberspace; raise awareness, skills to master information and technical tools and means for people when participating in cultural activities on cyberspace...

This year's press awards promise to attract many quality works.

In addition to the innovation in content, the rules also adjust the regulations on the time of posting, receiving and judging the preliminary and final rounds, especially innovating the form of receiving and delivering works in a simple but strict and scientific way, creating favorable conditions for authors as well as judging panels, in line with the digital transformation trend, thereby expecting to attract a large number of authors and works, contributing to the success of the third season of the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture".

Journalism genres eligible for awards: Journalism works including articles, reports, investigations, documentaries, memoirs, talk shows (except live radio and television programs)... on culture, information, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast for the first time on the following types of newspapers: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, photo newspapers from June 16, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

Applications for the award must be submitted directly or sent by post to the Award Standing Office by July 31, 2025 (according to the postmark).

The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in Hanoi on October 20, 2025.
