On August 24, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) opened an investigation into the Embraer plane crash in the Tver region that occurred on August 23.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Federal Emergency Situations Ministry announced that an Embraer Legacy aircraft had crashed near the Kuzhenkino settlement in the Tver region. There were 10 people on board, including three crew members. All were killed.
According to Tass, Rosaviatsia said that Mr. Yevgeny Prigozhin and the commander of Wagner forces, Mr. Dmitry Utkin, were among 10 people, including 3 crew members and 7 passengers, on the plane that crashed north of Moscow on the evening of August 23.

The Embraer Legacy private jet believed to be carrying Mr Prigozhin crashed in the Bologovsky district of Tver province while flying from Moscow to St Petersburg at 6.20pm Moscow time. By 10pm, eight bodies had been found at the scene. Vladimir Rogov, a Russian-appointed official in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, said he had spoken to Wagner commanders who had confirmed that Mr Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin were on board.
According to AP, Keir Giles, a Russia expert at the international affairs research organization Chatham House, advised caution about information about Mr. Prigozhin's death. The US National Security Council has not yet confirmed the authenticity of the reports about Prigozhin's death.
