On September 29, the Russian military used both Geran suicide drones and Iskander missile systems to attack Ukraine's strategic rear. Russia also used heavy precision bombs in its attacks in eastern Ukraine.
On the night of September 29, loud explosions were also reported in Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhie and the southern region, where fighting was taking place.
The city of Zaporozhye was heavily attacked by Russia. Early in the morning, at least eleven Russian FAB heavy bombs with upgraded calibration modules hit military- industrial complexes, military and logistical infrastructure in the city of Zaporozhye. According to some reports, the city was hit by thirteen heavy bombs.
One of the main targets of the September 29 attack was the Motor-Sich plant, one of Ukraine’s largest industrial facilities. It produces aircraft engines and parts for unmanned aerial vehicles. Motor-Sich’s facilities have been repeatedly hit by Russian airstrikes in recent days. On September 29, the plant was reportedly hit with at least five heavy Russian bombs. The resulting fire broke out and several secondary explosions were heard at the plant.

Another Russian airstrike target was a local ship repair plant that produces Ukrainian drones to support Ukrainian naval operations, including attacks on the Crimean peninsula.
Russian airstrikes also destroyed the launch pad and radar station of the IRIS-T system, which was provided by NATO to support Ukraine's air defense. The system was destroyed in the Zaporozhie airport area.
NATO's AN/TPQ-48 radar station deployed at the former Ukrainian military base on the eastern outskirts of Zaporozhie was also attacked and destroyed by Russia.
At least two Russian FAB heavy bombs hit the Zaporozhie-1 railway station, which is used as a staging area for military supplies to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the frontlines in Donbass and Zaporozhie.
According to unconfirmed local reports, one of the targets of the airstrike on the morning of September 29 was a building used by the Ukrainian Security Service in Zaporozhye, where Ukrainian and NATO officers were stationed.

In addition to the heavy bomb attacks, several Russian drones also attacked the temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Kotlyarevsky High School in the village of Kotlyarovo. The attacks resulted in the destruction of a building, a fire, and several explosions in the area. These explosions suggest that the Ukrainian military may also be storing weapons in the building.
In addition, Russia has also launched a series of airstrikes against several targets in the Odessa region. Russian drones attacked a metal factory in the village of Rozdelnaya. The Ukrainian Armed Forces use this enterprise to assemble military trucks and other equipment. In the town of Molodezhnoe, another logistics center of the Ukrainian army, the Russian army was also attacked.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have also carried out repeated attacks on Kiev forces in the tactical rear areas of eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian reservists are under constant attack in Pokrovsk, in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. Another Ukrainian group was attacked by Russian drones near the village of Yasenevoe. North of Pokrovsk, Russian precision strikes caused Kiev forces to suffer casualties in the village of Dobropolie. A Ukrainian fuel depot was also destroyed by Russian fire in the town of Konstantinovka.
