The Russian Ministry of Economic Development also said that the implementation of this mechanism will take time because it depends on the coordination between the two sides. The goal of the program is to simplify procedures and create more favorable conditions for citizens of the two countries in tourism activities.
Currently, Vietnam is applying a visa exemption policy for Russian citizens with a stay of up to 45 days. In contrast, Vietnamese citizens can apply for an e-visa to enter Russia for a period of no more than 30 days.
Last May, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov and Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation until 2030, aiming to increase the number of tourists between the two countries. This is an important step to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and people-to-people exchange.
