Construction industry grows positively

According to the assessment of the General Statistics Office, in recent times, the city has made efforts to promote public investment projects, actively disburse funds... thereby supporting housing construction projects and technical works to accelerate progress, increasing implementation value. The added value of the entire construction industry recorded quite impressive growth in the second quarter of 2024 with an increase of 7.86%; in the first 6 months of 2024, it increased by 4.03% compared to the same period in 2023.

Construction industry GRDP reached 3,093 billion VND

From the beginning of 2024 until now, especially in the second quarter, many projects and investment projects in housing construction and civil engineering have been implemented in the city. Notable projects include commercial housing construction projects and real estate projects along the Han River and coastal areas of Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Lien Chieu districts... On June 19, the Nobu Hotel & Residences Da Nang Hotel, Restaurant and Resort Apartment Complex project was implemented. The project is located on a ^3,000m2 land area at the corner of Vo Nguyen Giap - Vo Van Kiet Street (Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District) with 43 floors with a total height of 186m, 186 hotel rooms, 264 resort apartments, a glass bridge from the 2nd floor across Vo Nguyen Giap Street to take visitors to My Khe beach... In addition, many large commercial housing projects are being implemented such as the Han River Apartment Complex, Capital Square 3 Urban Area, Capital Square 2 Urban Area...

According to the General Statistics Office, the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2024 for the industrial and construction sectors reached VND 13,058 billion (at current prices), of which the total GRDP of the industrial sector was VND 9,965 billion, up 0.94% and the GRDP of the construction sector was VND 3,093 billion, up 4.03% over the same period in 2023. The total value of investment capital implemented outside the non-state sector increased, some projects were accelerated in the second quarter of 2024 such as The Filmore apartment complex, Plaza 3 apartment building, festival area at Sun World Ba Na Hills...

Total investment capital implemented in the State sector also increased, some projects implemented from the State budget have high progress such as Lien Chieu seaport, coastal road connecting Lien Chieu seaport, Quang Da bridge and bridge approach road... Also according to the General Statistics Office, prices of raw materials, fuels, and construction materials are tending to stabilize and decrease slightly (down 2.27%) compared to the average of the same period in 2023, creating favorable conditions for construction activities. Retail sales of wood and construction materials in the first 6 months of 2024 also increased sharply, reaching 2,903 billion VND, up more than 19.7% over the same period in 2023. Along with that, the output of ready-mixed concrete (fresh concrete) produced more than 286,600m ³ , up 28%; Prefabricated metal house components reached 10,649 tons, up more than 122% over the same period...

Construction permits for many large projects

The report of the General Statistics Office on the socio -economic situation of Da Nang city in the second quarter of 2024 and the first 6 months of 2024 recorded that the construction sector had quite impressive growth in the second quarter of 2024 with an increase of 7.86%, and an overall increase of 4.03% in the first 6 months of the year compared to the same period in 2023. In particular, the value of construction of all types of houses in the first 6 months of the year increased by 11.45%; construction of civil engineering works increased by 13.84% over the same period. This result is a testament to the efforts of the construction industry in particular and the joint efforts of departments, branches, sectors and localities throughout the city in general, especially the drastic direction of all levels in implementing solutions to promote public investment projects, actively disburse and remove difficulties in construction investment, helping projects to speed up implementation progress.

The Department of Construction has appraised the feasibility study reports of 8 construction investment project dossiers (from other sources of capital); granted construction permits to 22 projects with a total investment of VND 18,916 billion. In addition, the Department received and processed 170 dossiers for construction design appraisal with a total investment of approximately VND 2,200 billion that has been appraised and approved. In the last 6 months of 2024 and the coming years, the total GRDP value of the construction industry will increase further due to the large volume of construction works and projects that have just been licensed by the city, especially private investment projects with large total investment capital.

Director of the Department of Construction Phung Phu Phong informed that in the first 6 months of 2024, the city has made efforts to remove many obstacles and difficulties in investment and land and completed the approval of many zoning planning projects, which has impacted and increased the value of the construction industry. In particular, 22 private investment projects have been granted construction permits with a total capital of nearly 19,000 billion VND. Currently, the city has completed 8/9 urban zoning planning projects, and the remaining 1 zoning planning project will be completed in July 2024. This will continue to remove difficulties and obstacles for many projects to complete procedures and implement in the coming time. In addition, the city is also establishing planning projects for functional areas, mainly tourist areas, as a basis for calling for investment, contributing to promoting growth and socio-economic development of the city.
