Clearing the flood escape corridor of Phu Ninh reservoir

Tam Xuan Commune People's Committee has just deployed the work of clearing the flood escape corridor on the river for Phu Ninh reservoir to ensure the safety of people's lives and property when the reservoir regulates flood discharge during the rainy season.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the number of typhoons and tropical depressions directly affecting the Central region in 2025 is likely to be higher than the multi-year average and concentrated in the period from early September to the end of December 2025.

Accordingly, the Phu Ninh reservoir may have to regulate flood releases regularly when heavy rains occur continuously.

This flood control measure will affect aquaculture activities, daily life, transportation, fishing, and the exploitation of other resources by fishermen on the Tam Ky and Truong Giang rivers.

Therefore, households need to quickly develop plans for harvesting aquaculture in cages, ponds, and lakes, and implement appropriate response measures when the reservoir regulates floods. They should also proceed with clearing assets, boats, fish cages, and securing other vessels on the Tam Ky and Truong Giang rivers to ensure a flood drainage corridor for the Phu Ninh reservoir.
