The Health Sector Implements Health Work Plan for 2025

On the morning of December 24th, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan chaired an online conference to summarize the tasks of 2024 and implement the health work plan for 2025.

Comrade Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the meeting at the Ha Tinh branch.
In 2024, the health sector exceeded two-thirds of the targets set by the National Assembly regarding the number of doctors and hospital beds per 10,000 people; achieved the target for the percentage of the population participating in health insurance; basically completed the major targets of the sector and field assigned by the Government; focused on strengthening institutional and policy improvements, enhancing state management capacity, and streamlining the state apparatus towards greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Continue to improve preventive and primary healthcare capacity. Basic infectious diseases are controlled, with no large clusters of cases or outbreaks in the community. Continue to implement programs and projects on population work, contributing to prolonging and effectively utilizing the demographic dividend and adapting to population aging.

Medical examination and treatment services continue to improve in quality and efficiency, with a patient-centered approach aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction. Many advanced medical techniques have been successfully applied, particularly organ and multi-organ transplantation. Private medical facilities have developed both in number and scale; currently, there are 384 private hospitals, accounting for 22.3% of the total number of hospitals.

Delegates at the Ha Tinh venue listened attentively to the conference agenda.

Continue to promote the development of traditional medicine, combining traditional medicine with modern medicine. Pay attention to the health care of the elderly, mothers, children, the poor, and ethnic minorities.

At the conference, representatives from ministries, sectors, localities, and units presented papers on several issues related to the achievements, shortcomings, and limitations in the implementation process, while also proposing many solutions to continue improving healthcare in 2025.

Government leaders have handed over the Decision approving the Plan for the network of medical facilities for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to the Ministry of Health.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged the achievements of the health sector in 2024. He also requested that the health sector continue to focus on developing policies and laws, promptly issuing detailed documents for implementation, and stabilizing the organizational structure after the merger towards a streamlined, professional, and efficient system.
