Artists Phuong Cam Ngoc and Nguyen Van Khoi won first prize in the "2023 National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition"

On the evening of September 30, at Cao Van Lau Theater ( Bac Lieu ), the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the "National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition 2023" took place.

The competition is organized by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province, the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Lieu province and relevant agencies and units.

Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition said that after 7 days and nights of performance, the artists and actors brought to the audience of Bac Lieu province in particular, and the audience of other countries in general, many emotions and colorful perspectives.

The contestants brought many emotions to the competition through roles that enhanced creativity and showed great potential in inheriting valuable lessons from previous generations.

Actors won first prize at the "National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition 2023"

The contest brings excerpts and roles praising the precious historical and cultural values ​​of the nation and promoting the cultural quintessence of humanity from the unique and special artistic products of Vietnamese reformed art.

"Through this contest, the Department hopes and recommends that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the Department of Culture and Sports of provinces and cities, and reformed art units continue to focus on and increase investment in appropriate mechanisms to attract, search for and train reformed art talents, especially young talents, creating conditions for young talents to develop" - Mr. Huong Duong expressed.

On behalf of the Jury, Meritorious Artist Director Ca Le Hong - Chairman of the Jury of the competition commented: "The excerpts chosen by the artists are very diverse, bringing liveliness to the competition. Many plays about history, revolution and folk and social topics have brought the competition a new creative space, so that the invested roles have the opportunity to shine, bringing new experiments in singing and acting through different forms of staging and handling".

Actors participating in the "National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition 2023" were awarded prizes.

"In addition to the good excerpts that have been staged and performed, this competition still has many limitations such as some excerpts being staged too simply, not creating a "valuable" stage for the actors to show off their singing and acting talents; some excerpts have too many details, making the story too long, diluting the image of the main character..." - Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong frankly said.

The Organizing Committee awarded 7 First Prizes to actors: Pham Hai Dang (Cao Van Lau Theater); Le Thi Hong Giang (Tay Do Theater); Nguyen Van Khoi (Tran Huu Trang Opera Theater); Pham Thi Ngoc (Thanh Hoa Province Traditional Arts Theater); Tran Phuong Trang (Dong Nai Arts Theater); Do Thi Kim Oanh (Hai Phong Opera Troupe); Phuong Cam Ngoc (Song Viet Performing Arts Company Limited) and 14 Second Prizes to other actors in the competition.

Producer Hoang Song Viet and artist Phuong Diem Ngoc were happy with the results of their artistic work after the competition in Bac Lieu.

The director of the New Cai Luong Dai Viet stage said that the fact that his company's artist won the First Prize was a source of happiness for the socialized unit, because Phuong Cam Ngoc's creative efforts in singing and performing once again made him confident in the force that inherited the previous generation of artists, because through many plays of the New Cai Luong Dai Viet stage, Phuong Cam Ngoc is a young actress who has attracted attention.

As for Nguyen Van Khoi, he is a handsome actor of Tran Huu Trang Theater, who has strived to achieve standards in the system of creating difficult roles, from the inner self to the singing style of a young artist who knows how to appreciate new experiments to enrich his career.
