Ho Chi Minh City stage artists visit the grave of journalist Nguyen Van Tuan "Sau Tuan"

On the morning of August 14, author Tran Van Hung - Head of the Authors' Association - Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association visited the house of the late journalist Nguyen Van Tuan - alias Sau Tuan - former director of Hau Giang Television Station to burn incense in memory of him after 9 years since he left the television stage.

At Lung Cot Cau - Bung Da Noi, Can Tho , where Mr. Sau Tuan lives, author Tran Van Hung visited the grave of journalist Nguyen Van Tuan (Sau Tuan) and recalled many beautiful memories about him.

Lung Cot Cau - Bung Da Noi, where the low clouds seem to touch the river, where the sound of the wind passing through the garden sounds like the opening melody of a garden song, welcomed the footsteps of author Tran Van Hung, returning to beautiful memories.

He brought with him a simple bouquet of flowers, an incense stick and many memories of journalist Nguyen Van Tuan, a name closely associated with the development of journalism and television in the Western Capital region and also the person who contributed to "awakening" the source of literature and art from the land of rivers and water.

In front of Sau Tuan's grave, author Tran Van Hung stood still for a long time. Perhaps he imagined the figure of a man who was diligently working on the studio, on manuscripts, on field trips where mud clung to his feet but his will was always strong.

Mr. Sau Tuan left many feelings in the hearts of artists in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the memories of many generations working in the television and reformed theater industry, Mr. Sau Tuan was a manager and a "torch bearer" who was open to innovative initiatives. "He was always steadfast in kindness, and knew how to see in ordinary life the materials that could be used in art. A stick of incense stuck in the ground, the smoke swirling in the wind. I bow my head to a brother, a comrade who was so devoted to the reformed theater" - author Tran Van Hung shared.

Lung Cot Cau - Bung Da Noi is the cradle of beautiful stories because this place has welcomed many famous artists of the Cai Luong stage when they came to Can Tho, Hau Giang organized the Tran Huu Trang award by author Le Duy Hanh - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association at that time, who advocated bringing this prestigious award to the delta.

It was Mr. Sau Tuan's "breathing and support" that created all the conditions for the Tran Huu Trang Award from 2011 to 2015 to exist and discover many new talents for the country's stage.

It is not by chance that people call Lung Cot Cau and Bung Da Noi the "cradle" that gave birth to many literary and artistic works of Can Tho.

Here, history and culture blend together in depth: the canal system is like the folds of memory; the small bridge across the river is an image of trade and communication; the water in the flood season rises and falls with the rhythm of the sky, nurturing the habit of subtle observation of the Western people.

From that foundation, literary works, plays, television reports, songs… find their breath.

The visit to Tran Van Hung’s grave, therefore, is not just a formality. It is a silent dialogue between two generations of professionals: one who has completed his journey, leaving behind ethical standards for journalism and aesthetic taste; one who continues to write, continues to find ways to tell the story of the land in today’s language.

During the years, Hau Giang Television accompanied the local arts movement and created all conditions for the program "Southern Melodies" produced by Master - Director Thanh Hiep to be broadcast live on Hau Giang Television from the City Theater (from 2006 to 2008).

He has created a valuable "symbiosis": journalists - artists - audiences together create an artistic creative environment for artists to organize live shows such as: People's Artist Bach Tuyet "Tu tinh voi que huong", Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien - "A life of market rice and river water"; Meritorious Artist Thanh Sang "Ve voi goi nguon"; People's Artist Phuong Loan - "Thuong mien Hau Giang"; People's Artist Huynh Nga - "A life of following the career of the ancestors"... All of them were supported by him with funding for organization and directed and edited by Master - Director Thanh Hiep.

When leaving the grave, author Tran Van Hung stopped in the cemetery where there were printed poems and songs composed from Mr. Sau Tuan's poems by author Le Duy Hanh (the ancient song "Mien nho" - performed by People's Artist Bach Tuyet) and the song "Khong de" composed by musician Le Nghiep).

The seed of memory has sprouted from the place "Lung Cot Cau - Bung Da Noi" and will be the "cradle" to nurture a new team of stage authors. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Viet - the son of the late journalist Nguyen Van Tuan has promised to coordinate with the Authors' Association of the Ho Chi Minh City Stage Association to support the opening of a creative training class, and at the same time, this will be the place where the Young Authors' Club of the Ho Chi Minh City Stage will stay, organize training and foster creative writing.

"My father devoted his whole life to the theater, so now I also follow his last wish, nurturing the seeds so that from here they can sprout into works serving life" - Nguyen Hoang Viet said.
