"If you don't have a degree but have a balanced palate and love to eat, there is a food tasting job for you, with a salary of up to billions of dong/year," the Sun newspaper quoted in an attractive job introduction.
However, Sun emphasizes that the food you are about to try is not for humans, but for dogs.

Philip Wells (American), who used to work as a dog food taster, shared that this is a unique profession and can be very rewarding.
“While dogs' tastes are different from ours, dog food also needs to go through a quality taste test to ensure each different ingredient is balanced perfectly, just right,” says Wells.
It is known that new people doing this job often have a salary of 20,000 pounds (more than 608 million VND) and 50,000 pounds (more than 1.5 billion VND) for skilled people.
Some dog food tasters are also involved in developing new recipes for companies. They take a small bite and test the taste. The taster then feels the texture and consistency, spits it out, and moves on to the next taste.
For the most part, dog food ingredients are similar to what humans eat, including fish, vegetables, meat and animal products. If you are lucky, you may get to try dishes made with high-quality lamb, chicken and rice.
On the contrary, Wells had to admit that there were many poor quality dishes with flavors that made his stomach hurt when he conducted market research.
Lucy Postins, an American, told the Daily Mail that she loves her job as a dog food tester. Her company, The Honest Kitchen, is the first pet food manufacturer to receive a “human grade” rating from the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). This means that the product is also suitable for humans, as it is researched based on the human food chain.

Lucy, who researched in Warwickshire, believes that by producing food this way, pets will receive a host of health benefits including improved skin, coat and general immunity.
Dog food will include everything from free-range chicken, farm-raised beef and sweet potatoes, eggs, bananas and even dandelion greens.
According to Lucy, there are now many people trained in pet food ingredients and manufacturing, and as a result, a 2013 survey found that 74% of customers noticed their pets actually improved in health and energy when eating the product.
