The project is chaired by Dr. Nghiem Tien Chung, Hanoi Center for Research on Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants, with the research period from December 2021 to August 2025 in 3 districts: Mang Yang, Kbang, Dak Doa of Gia Lai province (old).
Through the investigation and research process at Kon Ka Kinh National Park, the project has listed 305 medicinal species, including 75 rare species with a genetic database and QR codes, especially 8 to 10 species listed in the Red Book and IUCN. The project has also built a detailed map of species locations and breeding processes; planted 3 medicinal species of economic and medical value: Di Luc, Giao Co Lam and Sam Cau.

According to the assessment of the Acceptance Council, the project not only has scientific significance but also high practical value, contributing significantly to the planning, conservation and sustainable exploitation of medicinal plant genetic resources in Gia Lai, supporting the implementation of the goals in the national biodiversity conservation strategy and the genetic resources conservation program until 2030 according to Decision No. 53/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
In addition, it is possible to combine conservation with sustainable livelihood development for the community, especially ethnic minorities in the buffer zone through the model of growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy, associated with the development of ecotourism and community tourism in Kon Ka Kinh National Park in the coming time.
