THERE IS NOTHING MORE LASTING THAN HELPING SOMEONE THROUGH EDUCATION
That is Quynh Luu 4 High School, Quynh Tam Commune, Nghe An Province. From the 2022-2023 school year up to now, the Light Up the Future scholarship fund has been established at the school, stemming from the reality of life, many students are at risk of having to drop out of school because their family circumstances are too difficult, their parents cannot afford to support them to study properly, while these are students who love to study and are good at studying. So is there any way to help these students? The Light Up the Future scholarship fund was established from the 2022-2023 school year, so that former students who have graduated and have jobs can come back to contribute and support students in difficult circumstances to feel secure in going to school, graduating from high school or continuing to university.

Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen, a math teacher, said that with the Light Up the Future scholarship fund, former students are also benefactors who can help one or more students; they can help them for a school year or accompany them long-term, depending on their ability. Before that, the school made a list of students who needed help in studying (teachers had verified the actual circumstances of these students) so that benefactors could grasp and accompany them. In particular, each former student is a companion, giving students advice on studying, choosing a career, and the path to take after grade 12.
Former student Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, class monitor of class A, class 28 (2002-2005), has directly supported many disadvantaged students in the past 3 years. She has also mobilized more benefactors and companies to accompany the Light Up the Future Fund since its inception, helping students overcome difficulties to study well and have funds to study at university. With a kind heart, she and many benefactors have also cooked porridge and given it for free to the poor at 3 hospitals Minh An, Quan Thanh, Phu Dien (Nghe An) in the past 2 years.

Ho Trung Kien is a student of Quynh Luu 4 High School, class of 2006-2009. After a period of working as a paid intern in Japan, he returned to his hometown to work and is currently the Director of the GEC Study Abroad Company branch (in Vinh Phu Ward, Nghe An Province). In recent years, Mr. Kien has participated in many flood relief activities in localities of Nghe An and many northern mountainous provinces. He not only provides subsidies for disadvantaged students and supports the scholarship fund of Quynh Luu 4 High School, but is also an active member of the school's volunteer group, accompanying the group in many support campaigns and giving gifts to the poor.
From the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. Kien has been working with the Light Up the Future scholarship fund. He is currently supporting the tuition fees, advising, and accompanying a 12th grade student throughout the school year. "There is nothing more sustainable than helping someone through education . When they have knowledge and skills, their future is no longer uncertain," said Mr. Kien.
Along with Mr. Nhu Y and Mr. Trung Kien, many other former students have accompanied the Light Up the Future scholarship fund in the past school years, such as Mr. Mai The Dung, class A1, class 41, who recently donated 6 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, at the opening ceremony of the 2025 - 2026 school year. Former students Pham Thi Be (class 30) and Nguyen Thi Giang (class 32) also supported the fund a lot.
In addition, there are many benefactors - former students who remain anonymous throughout the process of contributing to the scholarship fund. Some people quietly support the expenses for many poor students to finish grade 12, at the same time take care of living expenses and pay tuition for a student studying general medicine at Vinh Medical University (Nghe An province).
HALF A CENTURY OF SOWING SEEDS OF KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONALITY IN STUDENTS
Accompanying the kind-hearted alumni are dedicated teachers. The teachers take the time to verify the difficult circumstances of the students, report their academic results, training awareness, etc. to the benefactors to ensure transparency in the process of support and assistance.

Among them, we can mention Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, who has worked at Quynh Luu 4 High School for 26 years, in charge of the volunteer group, and has connected many former students to support difficult circumstances at the school. That is Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen, also working for 26 years, accompanying many volunteer activities of the school. The teachers confided that what they are most proud of about Quynh Luu 4 High School is that besides the tradition of studiousness and good study, the students also have a spirit of solidarity, the will to rise up and help each other. "We always believe that the journey of educating students does not stop at teaching them knowledge but also educating them about a sense of responsibility, love for the community, and a pure heart to help those in need around them. Small help can change a person's future," said Ms. Hai Yen.
On November 2, 2025, Quynh Luu 4 High School will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Half a century of dedication to educating people, the achievements of the school in a mountainous commune of Nghe An province are not only excellent and successful students, but also kind hearts.
Mr. Ho Van Thanh, Principal of Quynh Luu 4 High School, said that he is always deeply grateful to generations of teachers - those who have silently devoted themselves, sowing seeds of knowledge and personality for generations of students, so that today we have successful people and kind hearts returning to their old school.
"The Light Up the Future Scholarship Fund has a humanistic meaning. It is not only a material sharing, but also a source of spiritual encouragement, a flame of inspiration that helps students to be confident and have more determination to overcome difficulties. I would like to sincerely thank the former students who have always turned to the school, contributing to helping the school develop more and more, worthy of the tradition of "Good Teaching - Good Learning, Kindness - Responsibility" over the past half century", Mr. Thanh confided.
