The work of harvesting sea shrimp is started by fishermen in the coastal areas early in the morning. To "rake" dozens of kilograms of shrimp, each fisherman must soak in the sea for many hours and move continuously. The "shrimp rake" tool is a racket made of thin mesh attached to an iron frame with a wooden handle about 1.5m long.

The shrimp season in coastal areas in Quang Binh usually starts from June to the end of September of the lunar calendar. "This year, shrimp come ashore earlier and appear densely because the sea has a lot of plankton and the water is clear and clean," said Mr. Le Van Thang, Nam Lanh village, Quang Phu commune, Quang Trach, Quang Binh.

Fisherman Le Van Ngoi earns millions of dong every day thanks to sea shrimp.

Many fishermen said, This year, sea shrimp has a good harvest and good price. "For example, today, someone caught more than 100kg, sold it for 30,000 VND/kg, earning more than 3 million VND", fisherman Le Van Ngoi, Nam Lanh village, Quang Phu commune, Quang Trach, Quang Binh excitedly.

Shrimp is often used as food to prepare daily dishes; in addition, shrimp is also salted by fishermen, dried, or combined with other dishes.
