Indians are reeling in the heat of over 50 degrees Celsius

Parts of northern India continue to reel from a prolonged heatwave that has disrupted normal life. Weather experts say temperatures have actually crossed 50 degrees Celsius due to high humidity.
BBC and PTI news agencies quoted the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) as saying that temperatures in many northern states of the country soared above 45 degrees Celsius and reached 48.8 degrees Celsius in the city of Barmer, Rajasthan.
