Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management ( Ministry of Health ), the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is an important event that people across the country are looking forward to.
On August 21, the day of military training, from early morning, many people flocked to Ba Dinh, "stationed" in beautiful locations to watch the military parade and march.

According to Dr. Duc, this event always attracts and gathers a lot of people. Therefore, before going to watch the parade, especially families with elderly people and children, they should prepare carefully about food, drinks, and means of protection from rain and sun.
"If you are healthy enough to go out, you should try to drink enough water and have protection from the sun and rain. When you feel signs of declining health, ask for support from the authorities, try to proactively leave crowded places early and proactively ensure your health in all situations...", Dr. Duc noted.
As for the elderly, those with one or more underlying diseases, should find suitable locations to watch the parade, parade or stay home to listen to the radio, watch TV. People with chronic diseases must also comply with treatment, if they are taking medication, they must ensure they take the full dose.
Sharing this view, Dr. Vu Duc Long, Deputy Director of A9 Emergency Center, Bach Mai Hospital, said that in reality, at events with large crowds, there is a risk of health-related situations occurring, such as exhaustion, acute illness, even jostling, suffocation... therefore, being prepared will ensure health safety at crowded events.
"Before attending the event, people should eat and drink well and get enough sleep. When going, bring water, snacks, masks, personal medicine, a light raincoat, a hat... Wear loose clothing, easy-to-move shoes and always look for the exit from the beginning," Dr. Long advised.

Especially those with underlying medical conditions should bring their medication and avoid standing in a crowded, stuffy environment for long periods of time. If your health is not stable, you should not participate or have a relative accompany you.
In crowded places, if you experience symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, palpitations, chest pain, cold sweats... you need to quickly move to a fresh air place and notify medical staff for support.
According to Dr. Long, every citizen should be equipped with first aid skills. With the A80 event, the medical force will be very professional, with the participation of thousands of medical staff on duty at key locations. However, in other crowded events, the medical force is often thin, if having first aid skills will increase the chance of survival for the victims.
Especially in an emergency, do not jostle, follow instructions, and find the nearest exit.
Dr. Duc said that to ensure medical work for the A80 event, the Ministry of Health mobilized thousands of medical staff to participate with hundreds of medical teams on duty in all areas, from central areas to places where the parades passed through.
Accordingly, at the medical tents, first aid issues will be ensured, classified, and situations that cannot be treated on the spot will be immediately brought to medical facilities.
The Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management also recommends that people install the A80 application on their smartphones to know the location of medical staff on duty.
