The Da Nang University Village project (located in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province) has been delayed for 27 years. This has affected the lives and land rights of the people.

The Project to Build Danang University Urban Area in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc (abbreviated as Danang University Village Project), with Danang University as the investor, was approved by the Prime Minister in 1997 in Decision No. 1057/1997/QD-TTg dated December 9, 1997.
With a total area of about 300 hectares; of which, about 110 hectares belong to Hoa Quy ward (Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city) and about 190 hectares belong to Dien Ngoc ward (Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province).
In phase 1 of the project, Ngu Hanh Son district has completely cleared the land for 41 hectares, 526 house records and 1,457 graves. Among them, pagodas, communal houses and clan houses have also been cleared.
However, the second phase of the Da Nang University Village Project has not yet been approved by the Government. Therefore, many people have to live in dilapidated houses that cannot be repaired.
At the meeting with voters to prepare for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee requested the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District to send a specific report to the City People's Committee and the National Assembly Delegation to consider and evaluate the feasibility of phase 2 of this project.
According to Mr. Quang, if the central authorities do not decide to implement phase 2, the planning may have to be canceled to ensure people's lives.
Ms. Le Thi Ly, a resident of Group 62, Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, said: “I really want to move, but I don’t have enough money to buy land to build a house, so I’m applying for more support from the government. I hope to be able to move soon, because there’s nothing I can do here.”
However, some people left and found the land abandoned, so they returned here to grow vegetables to make a living.
Ms. Phung Thi Em (71 years old) in Hoa Quy ward, Ngu Hanh Son district shared: "My family has been compensated and relocated to a new place, but seeing that the land is too empty is a waste, so I have returned to growing vegetables to earn more income. When the project is implemented, I will leave again."
According to records, up to now, some units have been brought to the university village.
However, due to slow implementation over the years, this place has become a place for garbage and overgrown weeds.
