Mr. Bui Van Dang (Bang Ga hamlet, Cao Son commune, Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province) - Manager of Ban Muong Xanh experience tourism area, shared: Cao Son is a remote commune, so in the past, people mainly worked in agriculture or went to work far away in industrial parks in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, etc. In recent years, the experience tourism area has been built and put into operation, creating many jobs for local workers.
“I have worked here for more than 3 years, have a stable income and have saved enough to send my children to school, and have money to buy many necessary items for life,” Dang shared.
Similarly, Ms. Bach Thi Thanh Xuan, a cleaning staff at the tourist area, said that before, when she worked at a garment company, her income was unstable. The new job has helped her have a stable life, and her economy has gradually improved. "Since coming to Ban Muong Xanh, I have had a more stable job and a higher income. Currently, I am paid about 9 million VND/month," Ms. Xuan happily informed.
From a poor rural area, up to now, in Luong Son, Hoa Binh province, many high-class resorts, homestays, entertainment areas, and spacious restaurants have appeared to serve tourists. According to statistics from the Department of Culture and Information of Luong Son district, currently, in the district there are nearly 20 homestays and large and small experiential tourism areas, attracting thousands of visitors every month.

Tourism activities have created hundreds of jobs and stable incomes for local people. As a result, many households have escaped poverty and become well-off. For example, at the Ban Muong Xanh Experience Tourism Area, the unit currently has more than 40 employees, mainly local people, with an average income of 7-10 million VND/month.
Continue to create investment attraction mechanisms
Not only Luong Son district, the development of community tourism, creating a stable livelihood for local people is being paid attention by the Party committees and authorities of Hoa Binh province with support and encouragement for people to develop as the main direction.
Specifically, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province issued Decision No. 446/QD-UBND approving the Project on Developing Community Tourism Associated with New Rural Development in Hoa Binh Province by 2030. The province aims to invest in building infrastructure for 290 community tourism households by 2030, welcoming over 1.65 million tourists; total revenue from community tourism accounts for 19.5% of total revenue from tourists.
Accordingly, Hoa Binh province advocates supporting the expansion of community tourism models for communes in mountainous areas; supporting investment and upgrading transport infrastructure connecting community tourism sites... Based on the planning of community tourism areas and sites, the Hoa Binh provincial government directs localities to mobilize people to participate in community tourism development plans.
Authorities at all levels have also prioritized resources for investment in basic infrastructure such as building roads connecting villages; developing the postal and telecommunications system; preserving traditional craft villages, preserving culture, etc. At the same time, creating conditions for people to participate in training courses, improve their professional skills and foreign languages, thereby applying them to welcoming and serving tourists. To date, Hoa Binh province has more than 20 community tourism spots and over 150 motels to serve the accommodation needs of tourists.
Ms. Quach Thi Kieu, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province, said that in fact, with the advantages of natural scenery, unique cultural identity, rich cuisine; the friendliness and openness of the Muong, H'Mong, Thai ethnic groups, etc.; has created momentum for community tourism in Hoa Binh province to develop over the past years, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to the locality, thereby creating sustainable livelihoods, helping ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the area escape poverty, rise up to become rich associated with building new rural areas.
Currently, Hoa Binh province has also built many policy mechanisms to support and attract investors to develop tourism. Create favorable conditions for economic sectors to participate in tourism business activities, to develop the economy and create jobs for the people.
