On June 23, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (PC06), Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that people can go to 23 locations in Ho Chi Minh City to make ID cards and level 2 electronic identification.

What do people need to prepare when applying for an ID card and electronic identification?

According to PC06, the ID card is not only a basic identification document but also used with many utilities such as health insurance card, driver's license, tax code, bank account...

Level 2 electronic identification accounts (on the VNeID application) help citizens carry out procedures such as submitting administrative documents, making cashless payments, signing digitally in the electronic environment, taking flights, medical examinations and treatment, financial transactions, etc.

However, to be granted a level 2 electronic identification, people need to go directly to the police agency to collect biometric data and verify information. With the most populous area in the country, Ho Chi Minh City has arranged 23 fixed collection points for each locality according to the above list.

When applying for an ID card or level 2 electronic identification, people must bring their CCCD or chip-embedded CCCD; if applying for level 2 electronic identification, they must bring a phone with the VNeID application installed.

In case of change of personal information or adjustment request, you should bring relevant supporting documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.).

Applications can be collected at the person’s temporary or permanent residence. Some locations may require an appointment or issue a queue number early in the day.
