Man's bladder ruptured after drinking beer

On June 28, according to information from Bai Chay Hospital, Quang Ninh , doctors from the General Surgery Department, Bai Chay Hospital, performed endoscopic surgery on a male patient with an injury due to excessive beer consumption.

Specifically, the patient is LVT (34 years old, residing in Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province). After drinking beer, he was riding a motorbike and fell while his bladder was full of urine. The accident caused the patient to have severe abdominal pain, headache, and chest pain. He was taken to Quang Yen Town Medical Center to have his soft tissue wound sutured, given a tetanus shot, and then transferred to Bai Chay Hospital.

Here, doctors diagnosed the patient with a ruptured bladder, with a lot of fluid in the abdomen, urine, and blood clots. After 2 days of surgery, the patient's health was stable.

Specialist Doctor Nguyen Van Quyet said that the patient drank a lot of beer and held his urine while driving, leading to a tense bladder that could easily rupture when there was trauma to the abdomen.
