Mr. Lo Van Yeu's concern is also the common sentiment of dozens of households in the village when last year's corn crop, the whole village had 27 households with a total of 50 hectares, or half of the corn area of Ta Vat village, also suffered a crop failure . Before the 2024 production season, choosing which corn variety is a matter of great concern to the villagers.

Phieng Pan commune is a large corn growing area of Mai Son district with an annual planting area of over 500 hectares. Corn has long been the main source of livelihood for farmers.
