The National Press Awards Council has selected: 8 A prizes, 24 B prizes, 46 C prizes and a number of consolation prizes to award the 17th National Press Awards - 2022.

Speaking at the award ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong acknowledged that over the 98-year history, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always accompanied the nation, been a pioneering and trusted force of the Party and State on the ideological and cultural front, making important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and building the spiritual foundation of society.
According to the President, the team of journalists today is growing stronger and more mature, improving their political qualities and professional capacity, making efforts to gradually master modern journalism technology, promoting the vanguard role of soldiers on the ideological and cultural front, regardless of difficulties and hardships, voluntarily devoting themselves to the focal points of social life, fulfilling well the responsibilities and missions of revolutionary journalists, making important contributions to building social consensus.
In 2022, in the context of many difficulties and challenges after the Covid-19 pandemic; the international situation is increasingly complicated and unpredictable, the press has accompanied the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army in recovering and developing the socio-economy. With their intelligence, passion for the country, and serious work, journalists have analyzed, interpreted, and sought solutions to important socio-economic issues and issues of public concern.
The team of journalists has left many marks, being more responsive in the fight against negativity, sharper in protecting the Party's foundation and ideology, fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints, protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, preserving and promoting national cultural identity, promoting digital transformation...
“I highly appreciate this year’s award-winning works, which continue to affirm the revolutionary, scientific, sharp and tireless dedication of journalists, clearly demonstrating the capacity for digital transformation and journalistic innovation. Many works are exploratory, highly combative, sharp and scientifically critical,” President Vo Van Thuong affirmed.
The President requested that press agencies and journalists must be highly aware of their responsibility to the Party, the State, the People and readers for the mission they undertake. Journalists must always be deeply aware that journalism is making a revolution, and journalists are pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party.
The President also asked journalists to continue to demonstrate their mettle, dedication, and take the lead in major, new, and difficult issues of the country; closely follow the vivid realities of social life, the cause of innovation, national construction, and defense; and promptly and vividly reflect the great, historical achievements that the country has attained under the leadership of the Party.
Faced with the rapid development of science and technology, fierce competition from other information platforms and changes in public information access behavior, the President suggested that the press strongly innovate and provide quality, reliable and convincing information on traditional platforms and especially digital technology platforms, to be able to attract and maintain the trust and respect of the public.
On behalf of the National Press Awards Council, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, affirmed that generations of revolutionary journalists are worthy of being shock troops on the ideological and cultural front, as President Ho Chi Minh taught journalists: “Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons.”
“The Party, the State and the people highly appreciate the role, achievements and great contributions of the press over the past century. The achievements of Vietnam’s revolutionary press today were built with the intelligence, efforts and blood of many generations of journalists over nearly a century,” Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed.
Among the 46 C prizes of the 17th National Press Awards in 2022, VietNamNet Newspaper won 2 prizes. They are the series of articles: "8 years of participating in United Nations peacekeeping - Continuing Vietnam's mark" by the group of authors Tran Van Thuong (Tran Thuong) and Pham Huu Hai (Hai Pham) and the series of articles "Correct decisions, Vietnam's economy breaks through after the pandemic" by the group of authors Nguyen Dinh Doan Bong (Doan Bong) - Pham Luong Bang - Pham Van Cong (Pham Cong) - Dam Xuan An (An Dam) and La Thi Kieu Oanh (Nguyen Hien).
