'Second mother' of students

As a primary school homeroom teacher, Ms. Kieu's job is different from that of other teachers. Directly teaching subjects, organizing and guiding all educational activities, always being with students most of the time at school, Ms. Kieu is like a "second mother" to the students. With that responsibility, she always tries to implement many effective educational measures for the class. In the 2022-2023 school year, Ms. Kieu applied the measure: "Building a happy classroom through homeroom work" to help students and teachers be happier every time they come to class.

Ms. Kieu confided: “By implementing this measure, I have overcome the difficulties in my work as a homeroom teacher, and have a deeper understanding of the value of happiness, thereby building happy lessons and happy classrooms. Thanks to successfully building happy classrooms, the relationship between teachers and students has become closer and more friendly. Accordingly, students respect, trust and love me; I understand and sympathize with the difficulties of my students, and from there, I love and devote myself to them.”

Ms. Kieu also focuses on innovating teaching methods. She always tries to create a close, intimate relationship, speaks softly and gently, not letting the students feel afraid when standing in front of the teacher; at the same time, creates a friendly learning environment with a comfortable classroom space, close to nature, helping the students experience, cooperate, communicate and share with each other.

“To motivate myself according to the students’ legitimate wishes, I put a mailbox called “What I want to say” right in the classroom for them to send in their loving messages, even their suggestions, their wishes for me to change or to exchange knowledge about the lesson… From there, I understand them better” - Ms. Thuy Kieu confided.

In addition, Ms. Kieu also cares about educating students about ethics and life skills through extracurricular activities and integrating them into subjects. Ms. Thuy Kieu said: “To educate students about environmental protection, I organize them to draw contests based on the theme; or educate students to be grateful to teachers through participating in making cards to give to teachers on November 20th organized by the school. Besides, I focus on educating students to have a good awareness of obeying the law, practicing life skills such as having rules, responsibility for themselves, their families and society; actively participating in the movement "Thousands of good deeds",... From there, students are trained and matured by me".

Thanks to her friendliness, friendliness and effective teaching methods, Ms. Thuy Kieu's students have made more and more progress during the school year. She has also received the love of many students. In particular, with her efforts, she has been recognized with many achievements, notably the first prize in the Provincial and Primary School Competition for Excellent Homeroom Teachers, 2022-2023 school year./.
