Woman waits for first love for over 50 years, wears wedding dress at age 83

After more than 50 years of waiting for her first love, Li Danni finally got to wear a gorgeous wedding dress and get married to the person she loves.

In 1953, Li Danni (then 26 years old), a Russian teacher at Zhejiang Medical University (China), and Yuan Dibao (then 25 years old), a student who was the class monitor of the Russian class, fell in love.

Li Danni comes from a family with a musician father and a French mother. She is beautiful and fluent in 4 languages, so she is greatly admired by students.

Yuan Dibao was an excellent and very serious student, so he became the monitor of Li Danni's Russian class. The two teachers and students often exchanged their views on studying, information from page 163 .

The two spent a lot of time talking and feelings developed without them realizing it. Outside of school, they spent time together. After a while, their relationship became closer and deeper.

The times they went out alone were beautiful memories for both of them. They often said that if they had to be apart in the future, they would look at the stars in the sky to express their feelings for each other.

Occasionally when it rained when they went out, Yuan Dibao would call a rickshaw for Li Danni, take her home first, and then return to school for evening self-study.

But those good days did not last long. In August 1955, Yuan Dibao's major was merged into the West China Medical College and he had to go to Chengdu (Sichuan) to continue his studies.

Facing the separation, Yuan Dibao was extremely sad. He confessed to Li Danni that his parents had previously arranged a marriage for him with a nurse. Even though it was an arranged marriage and he had no feelings for the other party, he could not argue back.

At that time, many parents were afraid that their children would not return home if they went to study far away, so they arranged such marriages, and Yuan Dibao was no exception.

After thinking for a long time, Li Danni finally decided to give up on love. She told Yuan Dibao that she could not put her own happiness above the pain of another woman. Li Danni's mother also advised her daughter to give up on this love.

From then on, the two never met again and only corresponded through letters. In 1956, Li Danni followed her family to France, and Yuan Dibao married a matchmaker.

Finding first love after more than 50 years

During the early days of separation, they kept in touch. In 1960, they suddenly lost contact. The reason was that Li Danni received an anonymous letter warning her not to write to Yuan Dibao anymore, otherwise it would harm Dibao.

Yuan Dibao kept writing to Li Danni but got no reply. And so they became separated...

In 1994, Yuan Dibao's wife passed away, leaving him devastated. As he grew old, his health gradually declined, and his hearing and eyesight were no longer good. It was then that he told his children the story of his love.

When his youngest daughter-in-law heard about the past between her father-in-law and Ms. Li Danni, she advised him to write to her again.

Listening to his daughter-in-law, after 2 days of thinking, he wrote 5 letters with identical content and sent them to Ms. Li Danni. He did not expect that Ms. Li Danni actually received his letters and replied 10 days later.

Seeing the reply, he was so happy that he cried. He wrote back to her, expressing his feelings. When he learned that she had never been married, he felt very touched. His children advised him to rekindle their old love and bring her back to China to live with them.

On September 18, 2010, Mr. Yuan Dibao's daughter-in-law went to France to pick up Ms. Li Danni and bring her back to Xiamen (China), so that the two could reunite. The day the plane landed, Mr. Dibao was waiting for her at the airport with a bouquet of flowers. When he saw her, he hugged her and cried.

Three days later, the couple registered their marriage in front of their children. After more than half a century, they found each other again. What touched everyone was that after all these years, Ms. Li Danni still did not get married because she missed her first love.

Finally, at the age of 83, Ms. Li Danni was able to put on a gorgeous wedding dress and get married to the person she loved. In the following years, they lived happily, making up for each other's feelings.

In October 2017, Mr. Yuan Dibao passed away in Xiamen at the age of 90.
