The party ended at nearly 10pm on April 27.
"This is the first time we have had a buffet (self-service meal) with so much variety and deliciousness, and at such a beautiful restaurant. We are both full and happy" - said Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, a worker in Duy Xuyen, working in Hoi An.
Since the afternoon of April 27, Dao Duy Tu Street next to Hoi An ancient town has been bustling with people. In front of Boi Com restaurant, the entire space has been cleaned. The restaurant has temporarily closed to guests to mobilize staff and chefs to organize a buffet party for workers and poor people in Hoi An to celebrate the 30-4 holiday.
Mr. Luong Quy Nhan, manager of Boi Com restaurant, said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, the restaurant decided to use its own funds to organize a buffet party and invite the needy to enjoy it.
For the past few days, information about the party has been announced on Facebook and in front of the restaurant Boi Com at 20 Dao Duy Tu. Nearly 1,000 meal coupons have been distributed, with people in need, the elderly, construction workers, cyclo drivers, motorbike taxi drivers, lottery ticket sellers… all receiving coupons.
The buffet was prepared by the staff of Boi Com restaurant and started serving from 5pm on April 27. Many people were already waiting to receive their meals. They were invited to sit in the restaurant spaces that were originally reserved for luxury guests. The dining tables were covered with tablecloths and the air conditioning was cool.
According to Mr. Luong Quy Nhan, the party was originally expected to end after about an hour, but there were too many "guests", plus many people selling lottery tickets and street vendors came home late, so the party ended almost 10pm.

"100% of the people who came to the restaurant on the afternoon of April 27 had never eaten a buffet before. Because they were not familiar with how to enjoy a party, we had to arrange staff to support and guide them.
There were many guests while the restaurant could not serve nearly 1,000 people at the same time, so we had to divide into 3 shifts, each lasting 1.5 hours. The program ended at nearly 10 p.m., both diners and service staff felt the joy of the days when the whole country celebrated the holiday," said Mr. Nhan.
In addition to inviting guests to eat to their heart's content, Boi Com restaurant also prepares a souvenir, a red flag with a yellow star (small size) for special guests to decorate to celebrate April 30.
Boi Com Restaurant in Hoi An is a place known to many tourists and Hoi An people because it is next to the old town and has an impressive space.
This restaurant has repeatedly created sympathy through activities oriented towards the Fatherland such as hanging red flags with yellow stars covering the restaurant, giving out shirts printed with the national flag to customers, wrapping banh chung to give to the poor and Western guests...
