On October 17, in China, the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) held the "Best Tourist Village 2025" award ceremony.
This year, Vietnam has two villages named in this category: Lo Lo Chai village (Tuyen Quang) and Quynh Son community tourism village ( Lang Son ) - familiar destinations for domestic and foreign tourists when coming to the Northeast highlands.
Lo Lo Chai stands out with the traditional houses of the Lo Lo people right at the foot of Lung Cu flagpole. When spring comes, the whole village is filled with the fragrance of peach and pear blossoms, making visitors flutter.

Quynh Son community tourism village is located right in the special national relic site of Bac Son Uprising and the UNESCO Global Geopark of Lang Son. This place is famous for more than 400 wooden houses with yin-yang tiled roofs and doors facing the same direction.
The UN Tourism “Best Tourist Village” award aims to enhance the role of tourism in protecting rural villages, including landscapes, knowledge systems, biodiversity and culture, local activities including agriculture, forestry, livestock, fisheries and cuisine.
Villages selected for the award must be outstanding in terms of natural and cultural resources, and have innovative actions and commitments to tourism development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Vietnam has had 5 tourist villages recognized by UN Tourism as “Best Tourist Villages” including Tan Hoa village (Quang Tri), Thai Hai village (Thai Nguyen), Tra Que vegetable village (Da Nang), Lo Lo Chai hamlet (Tuyen Quang) and Quynh Son community tourism village (Lang Son).
