Promoting the creativity of Hai Phong women

The emulation movements and activities of the Women's Union have contributed to promoting socio-economic development, spreading humanistic values, uniting the community, and building the image of modern, confident, and compassionate Hai Phong women.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union has just awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 7 outstanding Hai Phong women in implementing the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020 - 2025 and the special emulation period in 2025. As one of the individuals receiving the award, Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Huyen, Vice President of the Women's Union of Hong Bang Ward, was honored and proud when the meaningful community models initiated by her were recognized and highly appreciated. She is the author of the model "Free reading, borrowing book and story points" and "Catholic women actively participate in union activities and build families with 5 yes, 3 clean" which were recognized by the Science and Technology Council of Hong Bang District (old) as typical initiatives in 2022 and 2024. Through the model, Ms. Huyen mobilized 100 million VND to award scholarships; supported the construction and repair of 18 charity houses with a total value of 425 million VND; Help 16 poor households headed by women to escape poverty.

The spirit of patriotic emulation also originates from simple actions in the daily life of each women's union member. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Ngoan, a member of the Women's Union of Ngo Quyen Ward, has made positive contributions to the work of preventing and combating social evils in residential areas. She and the people discovered and coordinated to eradicate 2 drug and gambling dens; supported 2 reformed cases; and mobilized the installation of 8 security cameras in residential areas to help detect and prevent crimes. She also actively propagates the prevention of superstition and fraud on the internet, helping people to raise their vigilance and maintain peace in the neighborhood.

Chairwoman of Kien Minh Commune Women's Union Nguyen Thi Xuyen informed that each movement and model is associated with the local political tasks, originating from the needs and aspirations of women members. Propaganda work has been promoted, contributing to raising awareness and sense of participation in emulation movements among cadres and members.

Thanks to that, over the past 5 years, the Women's Union of Kien Minh commune has achieved many outstanding results in social security activities, when mobilizing more than 800 million VND to give gifts, build and repair charity houses, sponsor orphans, maintain "Charity Rice Jar", "Green House", "Green Sunday" in 100% of villages, forming 7 flower roads with a total length of 3.2 km, both beautifying the landscape and connecting the community. The Union manages more than 42 billion VND in loans, supporting 1,000 members to access preferential capital. 35 women are supported to start businesses, many models achieve income from 100-150 million VND/year, contributing to helping the commune eliminate 100% of poor households.

Over the years, the city has always paid attention to women's work and gender equality when issuing and implementing many practical policies and strategies to promote the role, potential and creativity of women in all fields. In particular, in the work of planning, training, fostering and using female cadres, the proportion of female cadres in the City Party Executive Committee reached more than 14%; women in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee reached 18.6%; female leaders of departments, branches and sectors reached more than 18%; female Party Committees at commune, ward and special zone levels reached 30.4%. Party committees and authorities at all levels always create conditions for women to participate in leadership, management, scientific research, economic and social development, making an important contribution to the cause of building and developing the city.

Vice Chairwoman of the City Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the City Women's Union Pham Thi Thu Hien informed that in the period of 2020 - 2025, all levels of the union helped 4,298 households escape poverty and near-poverty; supported more than 2,000 women to start businesses; 15,900 households met the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean"; mobilized more than 60.8 billion VND to support more than 181,000 women and children in difficult circumstances, policy families, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; nearly 2,000 orphans were sponsored with a total cost of more than 19 billion VND; 259 charity homes were newly built and repaired... From emulation movements, more than 7,000 typical collectives and individuals were honored by the Central and the city; more than 9,000 typical collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded by the union at all levels.

Speaking at the program celebrating the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union, meeting with representatives of female cadres, cadres of women's unions at all levels and awarding prizes for the typical propaganda contest "Dam hoa dat Hai Phong" organized by the City Fatherland Front Committee, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong requested that all levels of the city's women's unions focus on building a model of Hai Phong women who are confident in their knowledge, elegant in their behavior, persistent in their dedication and pioneers in innovation, worthy of the city's stature, mettle and aspirations to rise in the new era.

The city will continue to pay attention to women's work, ensuring that all policies are aimed at practical, effective and sustainable goals, especially building an environment for Hai Phong women to shine with their capacity, intelligence and dedication. Each Party committee, industry and locality must consider caring for and developing female cadres and building a strong women's movement as one of the important political tasks.
