On Sunday, the women's group of Block 17, Bac Kan Ward, organized a warm and meaningful gathering. Each person contributed ingredients such as sticky rice, gac fruit, mung beans, black sesame seeds, etc., and they gathered at the spacious home of one of the women to cook sticky rice, prepare beans, roast sesame seeds, and make cakes.

The gathering was not only to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th, but also an opportunity to share stories about family, raising children and grandchildren, and small plans to preserve beautiful traditional cultural values amidst modern life.

Ms. Le Thi May, a resident of the neighborhood, shared: "This year I planted a small amount of black sesame seeds, and I'm saving some to make sesame-filled sticky rice cakes, a dish associated with childhood memories and traditions in many families."

In a lively and warm atmosphere, everyone joins hands to make gac fruit rice cakes and purple rice cakes wrapped in cam leaf, which not only bring the taste of home but also embody family bonds, community spirit, and the pride of the women of the highlands.

Instead of vibrant flowers or lavish celebrations, Vietnamese Women's Day in the highlands is marked by simple yet meaningful everyday activities. In the highland villages, love and community spirit are the most beautiful gifts given to women on this special day.

The women participate together in community activities, cultural exchanges, cooking intimate meals, or organizing meaningful joint activities such as cleaning villages, schools, and cultural centers. These activities not only bring joy but also strengthen solidarity and bonds among members.

In the mountainous commune of Na Phac, the celebratory atmosphere for October 20th was filled with vibrant sporting activities. Local organizations coordinated a friendly volleyball match, attracting a large number of officials, members, and residents. This event celebrated the successful conclusion of the National United Front Congress at all levels, and looked forward to the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 – November 18, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2025). On the simple volleyball court, bursts of laughter and beautiful plays truly ignited a joyful and unifying atmosphere.

Mr. Luc Anh Luan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Na Phac commune, shared: "The volleyball exchange activity not only creates a healthy playground for women's association members, but also fosters a spirit of solidarity and closeness among organizations, associations, and people. Through this, women become more confident, more attached to the association, and actively participate in the new rural development movement in the locality."

Beyond just sports, many women's associations in villages also organize thematic activities, sharing skills in economic development, child rearing, and preserving ethnic cultural identity... Although not elaborate, these gatherings are still warm, because behind them is genuine concern for the women in the highlands.

A representative from the Women's Union of Hop Thanh commune stated: To celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th, the Union has implemented many vibrant and meaningful activities such as: organizing a competition to learn about gender equality, cultural and sports exchanges, thematic seminars, and giving gifts to poor children. These activities have contributed to strengthening solidarity and spreading the positive qualities of Vietnamese women in the new era.

Many women in the highlands shared: "On October 20th, there may not be flowers or gifts in our villages, but we always feel warm-hearted when people in the village offer simple, sincere wishes and organize a reunion meal together. That feels so meaningful."

Many places also combine the celebration of October 20th with meaningful activities such as launching savings campaigns, growing organic vegetables, and making handicrafts to raise funds to support women members in difficult circumstances. With sincere hearts, meticulous attention to detail, and skillful hands, these gifts, though small, embody the spirit of mutual support and sharing within the community.

Through these simple yet heartfelt gestures, October 20th for women in the highlands remains filled with joy, pride, and optimism. It is in this simplicity that the beauty of highland women—resilient, capable, and full of love—shines even more authentically and profoundly.
