Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet, Vice Principal of Dong A University, commented that as soon as the call from the Central and Da Nang City organizations was received, the teachers, students, trade unions and Youth Union of the whole school unanimously responded. Each teacher donated a day's salary, each student donated a cup of morning coffee, the trade union chose "October 20th without flowers" to support the people in the flood-hit areas.

At the program, the Board of Directors of Dong A University presented 500 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City to support people in the Northern and North Central provinces who suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters and floods.

At the same time, the remaining 65 million VND is reserved to support students and lecturers whose families were directly affected by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) in the provinces of Quang Tri, Ha Tinh , Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, received support for people to overcome storms and floods from Dong A University.

When she learned that she had received support for students whose families were affected by storm No. 10, Nguyen Thi Tram Anh (from Ha Tinh, a Marketing student) was both grateful and somewhat surprised.

“When I saw the devastated image of my hometown, and heard my mother's choked voice on the phone saying that the house was devastated and all the crops were lost, my heart was truly broken. The support from teachers and friends at school was not only a source of encouragement to help me and my family overcome difficulties, but also a profound lesson about compassion, responsibility and love for humanity,” Tram Anh shared.
