Since 2022, the Phu Huu Commune Veterans Association has implemented the environmental protection club model. Up to now, the Commune Veterans Association has established 21 environmental protection clubs in hamlets. Every month, the club management board organizes two meetings to propagate and disseminate the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on environmental protection; mobilize cadres, members and people to put garbage in the right place, classify garbage at source; use fertilizers and pesticides safely and effectively, do not throw away bottles and pesticide packaging indiscriminately; use electricity and water sparingly...
Mr. Nguyen Nhat Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Phu Huu Commune, said: “Along with propaganda and mobilization, we regularly coordinate with local political and social organizations to clean the environment, collect waste; plant and take care of trees and ornamental flowers along the roads, around the hamlet cultural house, schools, and the commune People's Committee headquarters... At the same time, we build and strengthen many "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe" roads in the hamlets."
In addition, from 2022 to present, the Phu Huu Commune War Veterans Association has mobilized cadres, members and people to contribute working days and materials to upgrade and repair 12km of roads in Phu Nghia and Phu Tri hamlets; dredge 5.5km of intra-field canals; build 3 traffic bridges; plant trees and flowers on roads with a total length of more than 7km. The Commune War Veterans Association has mobilized cadres and members to actively respond to the campaigns "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". At the same time, coordinate with local branches and socio-political organizations to organize legal propaganda, patrol to maintain security and order; mobilize members of War Veterans Association, former soldiers, and militia to participate in training and exercises...
In Vi Tan, the Ward Veterans Association pays attention to supporting and creating favorable conditions for War Veterans members to stabilize their lives and strive to become rich legitimately. Every year, the Ward Veterans Association takes advantage of resources and attention from the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to support War Veterans members in developing their family economy . In particular, the Vi Tan Ward Veterans Association coordinates to mobilize support for 8 War Veterans members to build and repair houses, with a total amount of 840 million VND; supports members and people to borrow nearly 59 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank to invest in production and business; mobilizes War Veterans members to take advantage of vacant land around their houses to grow vegetables and raise livestock and poultry to improve family life; Coordinated organization of study tours to learn from effective economic models, transfer of science and technology in production, animal husbandry... With the practical support activities of the Veterans Association and the efforts of the veterans, 15/21 members of the Veterans Association who are poor and near-poor households have escaped poverty sustainably.
According to Mr. Vo Chi Cong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Vi Tan Ward, many cadres and members of the ward's War Veterans Association have boldly applied scientific and technological advances and e-commerce in production and business; implemented digital transformation in the management of revolving capital contribution funds, savings and loan groups managed by war veterans... Since then, the effectiveness of the economic models of the ward's war veterans has been increasingly improved, contributing to affirming the exemplary and creative role of war veterans in local socio-economic development.
