(CT) - According to the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), the labor market in the third quarter of 2025 has many improvements, the labor force and the number of employed people increased sharply; the unemployment rate, underemployment and informal labor decreased; and workers' income improved significantly.

Specifically, the labor force aged 15 and over in the third quarter of 2025 was 53.3 million people, an increase of 254,500 people compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 583,600 people compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months, the labor force aged 15 and over reached more than 53 million people, an increase of 556,300 people compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates reached 29.1%, an increase of 1% over the same period, reflecting a clear improvement in the quality of human resources.

In the third quarter of 2025, the whole country had nearly 52.3 million employed people, an increase of 261,300 people compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 580,800 people compared to the same period last year. By economic sector, the proportion of distributed labor includes: agriculture, forestry and fishery accounting for 25.6%; industry and construction accounting for 33.5%; services accounting for 40.9%.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the whole country will have about 52 million employed people, an increase of more than 552,000 people compared to the same period in 2024. The informal employment sector still accounts for a large proportion of 62.4% of the total workforce, but the trend is gradually decreasing, reflecting that the employment structure is gradually shifting in a positive direction.
