With this success, he broke his own record, becoming the non-Sherpa person to climb the "roof of the world " the most times in history.
Mr. Rajan Bhattarai, representative of Himalayan Guides mountaineering company in Nepal, said that climber Cool reached the 8,849m high peak of Everest on the morning of May 18 and is currently on his way to the lower camps.
Cool first conquered Everest in 2004 and has returned almost every year since. On this journey, he used the Southeast Ridge (South Col) route - the familiar route opened by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in their historic conquest in 1953. This route is still the most popular with climbers.
To date, more than 8,000 people have climbed Everest, many of them multiple times.
Accompanying climber Cool on this journey is Dorji Gyaljen, a Sherpa who has just reached the milestone of his 23rd climb.
Sherpas are an ethnic minority living in southern Nepal. They originated in Tibet hundreds of years ago, and are mainly concentrated around the Everest region. As a result, they are able to work at high altitudes, in low oxygen conditions - an environment that requires days or weeks for foreigners to adapt.
Nepalese mountain guides are usually ethnic Sherpas, who are considered a key contributor to the country's mountaineering scene.
The record for the most summits of Mount Everest still belongs to Kami Rita, another Nepalese Sherpa, with 30 summits of the world's highest peak.
Mountain climbing is not only an adventurous passion but also a key industry, bringing in large revenues and creating jobs for Nepal - a country that owns 8 out of 14 highest mountain peaks in the world.
This year's climbing season alone, Nepal has issued 468 Everest climbing permits, each worth $11,000, attracting hundreds of climbers and guides from around the world.
The climbing season is expected to end at the end of May, before the weather turns rainy, making climbing conditions dangerous./.
