As of May 17, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant has generated about 74.5 million kWh of electricity to the national grid. This is a positive result after many efforts of the investor, construction and equipment installation units, especially during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the units worked throughout the holidays.

Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant Project has a total designed capacity of 800MW, built in Ong Keo Industrial Park, Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District. On February 5, 2025, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant officially connected to the national grid, reaching a capacity of 50MW in the first time generating electricity to the grid.

According to the plan, this power plant will be put into commercial operation in June 2025, in accordance with the Prime Minister 's request. It is the largest power plant in the South to be completed and put into operation in the past 5 years.

Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant are the first two LNG power plants in Vietnam, with a total capacity of 1,624MW. When put into commercial operation, these plants will provide about 9-12 billion kWh per year to the national grid (about 60% of the total electricity consumption of Dong Nai - the locality currently ranked 4th in the country in terms of electricity consumption), contributing to ensuring the electricity supply for the southern power system, while contributing to realizing the goal of green energy transition and reducing net emissions to 0 by 2050.

For Dong Nai, this project, when put into operation, will supplement a stable power source for socio -economic development, especially industry and port services, thereby enhancing the province's reputation and position in the energy sector, attracting more domestic and foreign investors; expected to contribute about 17-18 trillion VND per year to the budget; create many job opportunities for local people and promote the development of supporting industries and related services.
