The worst champion in Premier League history

In February 2017, Leicester's board were forced to sack legendary manager Claudio Ranieri just eight months after he led the team to a historic title. Throughout English football history, Leicester are considered the worst champions, based on their performance in the following season.

At the time of Ranieri's sacking, Leicester had fallen to 17th place, close to the relegation zone. The club's board were forced to act, and by the end of the season, the "foxes" had climbed to 12th place. Leicester had only won 44 points that season, about half of their 81 points from the previous season.
