Identifying child abuse tricks on cyberspace

Talking to reporters, Specialist of the Department of Political Ideology - Continuing Education of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training (Nghe An Department of Education and Training) Pham Viet Toa said that, regarding the field of preventing child abuse in cyberspace, in recent times, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has had many directives and propaganda down to schools and localities.

Identifying sophisticated tricks, propaganda to prevent acts of abuse against children and students in cyberspace has become urgent.

Basically, through the incidents that have occurred, it is possible to identify some tricks that subjects often use in cyberspace: The common trick is through social networking services and dating applications to make friends, get acquainted, and entice children to meet for sex and sexual abuse.

Some people, through social networks, get to know children, propose romantic relationships or promise money or gifts to entice, threaten or force children to perform pornographic acts online. Some cases also post images and clips of children being sexually abused or subjected to school violence on the internet.

Private, sensitive images of children, insulting honor and dignity, seriously affecting children's spirit and private life, enticing children to work...

In some schools and classes, students are divided into factions, isolating friends, especially those with outstanding achievements or other talents and interests... Creating fake Facebook accounts to slander, badmouth, isolate friends, threaten and fight with each other, leading to a situation where some students feel sad, bored, do not want to go to school, are afraid of school and class, and there have been cases of students becoming depressed, autistic...

“After the recent incidents, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has issued thorough instructions on identifying acts and content of school violence, acts of infringement, mental violence... on cyberspace to coordinate with all levels of the industry, and strongly propagate to each family, school, andeducational institution,” Mr. Toa stated.

Strengthening prevention

Mr. Pham Viet Toa said that in order to promptly prevent acts that harm children as mentioned above, it is necessary to propagate and promote psychological counseling in schools. Coordinate with families and parents to promptly detect and prevent, coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities in detecting and handling acts of violence and abuse on cyberspace...

The Department of Education and Training requires the Departments of Education and Training and Heads of the above-mentioned units to continue to seriously implement many contents such as strengthening measures to ensure school security and safety, and preventing school violence.

Building a democratic, safe, healthy and friendly school. Effectively implementing the Code of Conduct in educational institutions, ensuring core values: kindness, respect, responsibility, cooperation, honesty in the relationship of each member in the educational institution towards others, towards the surrounding environment and towards themselves.

Regarding this issue, recently, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has also directed all levels and sectors in the province to strengthen their roles and responsibilities, continue to strongly propagate and effectively prevent acts of child abuse in cyberspace.

Disseminate knowledge and skills on protecting and supporting children to interact creatively and healthily in the online environment to schools, classrooms, villages, hamlets, and residential groups.

Educate and mobilize parents, caregivers, and families to regularly care for and accompany children in the online environment.

Innovate the methods and content of communication work in a close and lively direction to attract children, through the application of information and communication technology, the Internet and social networks.

Agencies and units deploy timely support and intervention measures for 100% of children abused online when requested by the children themselves or by relatives and the community.
