The trademark “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee” has been protected by 32 countries.

According to the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, to date, the “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee” trademark has been protected in 32 countries, with different forms of protection.

Specifically, Thailand and 27 countries in the European Union (EU) protect it under the form of “Geographical Indications”. China, Singapore and Canada protect it under the form of “Collective Trademarks”. In Russia, this trademark is protected under the form of “Appellation of Origin of Goods”.

Besides, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee was registered for protection in Japan by the Department of Intellectual Property ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) under the form of "Geographical Indication" but has not been accepted.

Leaders of Dak Lak province and the Trade Promotion Agency ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) visited a booth with the Geographical Indication "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee" at the 2023 Coffee Specialized Exhibition Fair.

Currently, there are 12 enterprises and cooperatives granted Certificates of right to use the Geographical Indication "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee".

Over the past time, the units have complied with the management system, production process, quality classification, product traceability system... ensuring eligibility to use the Geographical Indication "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee" for green coffee products.
