DNVN - Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of theFPT University School Council, believes that in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) profoundly impacting the learning and working environment, those who master AI are highly valued and will have the opportunity to become future leaders.
On October 30th, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), FPT Group organized the FPT Leader Talk - Journey To Your Future program with the theme "Transforming Potential into Talent," attracting nearly 1300 students and over 15,000 online viewers. The program featured two guest speakers who are both alumni of Hanoi University of Science and Technology: Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Vice Chairman of the University Council of FPT University, and Mr. Nguyen The An - AI Research Engineer at FPT Software AI Center, Valedictorian of Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a GPA of 4.0/4.0.
Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the FPT University's School Council, affirmed: "Every student at the Polytechnic University possesses exceptionally outstanding qualities and unique potential for unlimited development." However, he noted that the majority of young people have yet to discover their potential because they easily compromise with failure and give up after setbacks. This is one of the main reasons why nearly 90% of graduates will become ordinary people in the AI era. Only the remaining 10% can build capabilities and become different through perseverance, effort, creativity, and a lifelong learning spirit.
Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, FPT University.
"Practical learning is the foundation of success. Legitimate money must be earned through genuine effort and hard work," Mr. Tien said, while also urging each student to change their learning approach, shifting from passively listening to lectures to actively learning from teachers, teammates, friends, and especially AI.
According to him, AI offers many favorable conditions for young people to develop, but the most important thing is to apply AI correctly and effectively: "It is predicted that by 2023, nearly 40% of jobs worldwide could be affected by AI. This does not mean that AI will take away job opportunities from young people, but rather that those who know how to use AI will create them. Therefore, the generation that masters AI will be highly valued and become future leaders in the technological era."
Analyzing the advantages of HUST students and job opportunities in the technology industry, Mr. Tien gave typical examples of personnel at FPT. He stated that more than 1000 people working at FPT's units are alumni of the University of Technology, with nearly 200 currently holding leadership positions. Hanoi University of Technology is a place that nurtures the dreams of many generations of students, providing a solid foundation to help them shape their passions and develop their potential to soar high and far.
Mr. Hoang Nam Tien affirmed that students should strive to study hard because 90% of the knowledge gained in the Polytechnic University's classrooms will be applicable in their work. Meanwhile, FPT offers unlimited opportunities for personal development. Here, young people have the chance to experience a global work environment, learn and work alongside leading experts, hone their skills, and continuously update their knowledge of technology, opening up a path for personal growth.
During the Q&A session, speakers Hoang Nam Tien and Nguyen The An, along with host Dao Viet Bach, listened to and answered students' questions about overcoming difficulties, pressure, and job opportunities at FPT. Sharing from the perspective of a former student, Mr. Nguyen The An advised: “Students should balance their studies and work that suits their abilities. From their third year, students should choose to participate in research labs or internships at leading companies to discover their strengths, weaknesses, and suitability, helping them to properly orient their future careers.”
Host Dao Viet Bach - Head of Recruitment and Talent Acquisition at FPT Software Academy - also shared about the cooperation between FPT Group and HUST in the field of training and research in Industry 4.0 technology. After 4 years of signing the agreement, this cooperation has opened up many opportunities for HUST students to participate in research projects as well as gain early experience in a professional working environment at FPT.
