'Mission Impossible 8' is considered the 'gold standard' of action movies

According to Variety , Mission Impossible 8 (original title: Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ) after a special screening for the press is receiving a series of compliments about its quality.

Critic Courtney Howard commented: “The film is all-out. An adrenaline-pumping blast of some of the most jaw-dropping action sequences. Tom Cruise and his team have created a gold standard, a bold and impressive action film of the era.”

Agreeing, journalist and BAFTA member Simon Thompson also praised the brand's epilogue content. Mission impossible. “Incisive and intelligent in every detail, the eighth installment of the most thrilling franchise of all time is yet another triumph. After 28 years, Mission: Impossible 8 officially concludes the journey of the famous spy action franchise. Set 2 months after the events of the first part. Dead Reckoning (2023), the film continues to follow super spy Ethan Hunt in his attempt to destroy an artificial intelligence called "The Entity" before it falls into the wrong hands.

Besides Tom Cruise, the film also brings together a famous cast including Hayley Atwell, Hannah Waddingham, Pom Klementieff, Nick Offerman, Shea Whigham, Simon Pegg, Katy O'Brian, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames and Esai Morales.

After the press screening, Mission: Impossible 8 will be shown outside of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14. Tom Cruise and writer-director Christopher McQuarrie will both be present at the event. This marks Cruise's third visit to Cannes, after his first visit in 1992 with the romantic drama Far and Away by Ron Howard, and the second time with Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.

As of now, the brand Mission: Impossible brought in total revenue of over 4 billion USD worldwide. The highest-grossing film is Fallout (2018), which is also considered the best part of the franchise.
