Many former Vietnamese football stars from strong teams from Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, An Giang and Tien Giang (formerly) and some from abroad will gather on July 24 to participate in a match to celebrate with Dong Thap University, which is organizing a very grand and thoughtful first student football tournament in 2025.

Leading the team of former football stars to Cao Lanh is Nguyen Hoang Minh (Minh nhi), a famous right winger of the Hai Quan team, runner-up of the national championship in the 1982-1983 season. He is 66 years old this year, from Dong Thap , very enthusiastic in organizing the team from Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, there is center forward Nguyen Van Thanh (Thanh gù), 67 years old. He is one of the sharp tridents along with Minh nhi and Luu Tan Liem who once made waves on the national football field.

The former team will compete with the Joint Team of Coaches, Supervisors, Referees, and Organizing Committee members who are on duty at the tournament, with the addition of former 3rd SEA Games runner-up Phan Thanh Binh. The Joint Team also has Mr. Ho Van Thong, Principal, Head of Organizing Committee, and leaders of the Dong Thap Province Football Federation participating. This match will take place at 3:00 p.m. on July 24, followed by a student football tournament gala for 8 participating schools.
