Dong Nai spends 99 billion VND to support cadres after merger

On the afternoon of June 25, at the 29th Session, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X (2021-2026), passed a Resolution on support policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Binh Phuoc province to move to work at the Dong Nai Provincial Administrative Center after the merger.

According to the Resolution, those who are transferred will be supported with living and travel expenses during the initial period of working in the new locality. Specifically, each person will be supported with monthly housing rent at the rate of: 1.5 million VND if arranged in a dormitory or collective house; 2 million VND if arranged in social housing; and 3 million VND if having to provide their own accommodation. In addition, each officer will also be supported with 2 million VND/month for meals and a one-time support for transportation costs at the rate of 3 million VND/person.

In case the employee has received similar support policies from the province, ministry, branch or equivalent unit, only the highest level will be applied. This support policy is effective for 6 months, starting from July 1, 2025. The estimated implementation cost is about 99 billion VND, taken from the Dong Nai provincial budget after arrangement.

According to the administrative unit arrangement project, from July 1, 2025, Binh Phuoc province and Dong Nai province will merge into a new province, keeping the name Dong Nai province, with the administrative- political center located in Bien Hoa city. After the merger, Dong Nai province has a total area of ​​over 12,737 km², a population of over 4.4 million people and 95 commune-level administrative units.

Ho Chi Minh City surveys shuttle buses for officials in Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau

On the same day, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a decision approving the addition of an inter-provincial bus route from Vung Tau city to Tan Son Nhat airport (HCMC), to support transportation for officials and civil servants after this locality is merged into Ho Chi Minh City from July 1, 2025.

The bus route starts at Vung Tau Passenger Port (120 Ha Long Street) and ends at Tan Son Nhat Airport, with a total distance of about 110km. Each trip lasts 240 minutes, with a frequency of 10 minutes/trip, operating from 2:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Vung Tau and from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the airport. The vehicle used is a 10- to 16-seat vehicle.

In order to prepare to receive staff from localities after the merger, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has coordinated to survey the demand for shuttle buses in two localities, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

According to the survey results, Binh Duong province has 507 cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in need of shuttle buses, of which 487 people travel back and forth during the day and 20 people travel on weekends; Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has 461 people registering their needs, including 320 people traveling daily and 141 people traveling on weekends.

The shuttle route from Ba Ria - Vung Tau will depart from the Provincial Administrative Center (Ba Ria City), passing through National Highway 51 - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway - Mai Chi Tho Street - Ky Con - Tran Hung Dao - Nguyen Thai Hoc - Le Lai - Saigon Bus Station. The opposite direction will be from Saigon Bus Station - Pham Ngu Lao - Yersin - Ky Con - Saigon River Tunnel - Long Thanh Expressway - National Highway 51 - Ba Ria City.

According to the plan submitted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, it is expected to use 24 45-seat vehicles to transport officials, with a cost of about 1.3 billion VND per month. The total cost for the last 6 months of 2025 is estimated at about 7.8 billion VND.

254 Tay Ninh officials work at Long An administrative center

At the press conference on the afternoon of June 25 organized by the People's Committee of Long An province, the Department of Home Affairs of this province announced that it had received 254 officials, civil servants and public employees of Tay Ninh province (old) to work at the Administrative Center of the new Tay Ninh province, located in Tan An city (Long An). Of these, 33 people are under the management of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan - Director of the Department of Construction of Long An province informed that the province has urgently directed the review and renovation of existing housing facilities to arrange temporary accommodation for officials from Tay Ninh. Specifically, 33 officials under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee will be arranged at the province's official housing area; the remaining officials are expected to be arranged at the old headquarters of the Traffic Police Department, the Criminal Police Department or the dormitory area of ​​Long An Provincial Political School.

These facilities are being renovated, repaired and changed in function to ensure the material conditions for accommodation from July 1. At the same time, the province is reviewing land funds to establish an investment project to build a concentrated public housing area, ensuring stable accommodation for officials coming from far away to work long-term.

Regarding transportation, the Long An Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and related units to develop a plan to arrange vehicles to pick up and drop off officials from Tay Ninh province. This plan is expected to be completed before August 15.
