Improving the efficiency of job fairs is an important solution to connect businesses and workers in Hanoi .

Regarding the Hanoi labor market in the second quarter of 2025, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center Vu Quang Thanh said that, through the data collected by the center, businesses and units in Hanoi need to recruit about 100,000 - 120,000 people. "The second quarter of 2025 is the time when the Hanoi labor market needs many workers in all fields and professions. Along with that, in recent times, the Government and Hanoi City have had many policies and regimes to support businesses to promote growth and development, so there is a need for a human resource to meet production and business activities," said Mr. Thanh.

The increased demand for labor recruitment by enterprises has been clearly demonstrated in the job fairs in Hanoi. For example, at the online job fair connecting 6 northern provinces and cities, including Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen - Ninh Binh - Thai Binh, held on March 20 by the Hanoi Employment Service Center in coordination with the Employment Service Centers of 5 provinces, 107 enterprises and units participated in recruitment and enrollment with more than 34,400 job positions, vocational training, and labor export.

On March 23, the Hai Ba Trung district job consultation and transaction session in 2025 was recorded with the participation of 60 enterprises, with more than 4,000 job targets. In addition, there are more than 100 labor export targets in Germany, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia..., providing job and vocational training options for workers. Or the Ha Dong district job transaction session in 2025 on March 24 also attracted 55 units and enterprises to participate in recruitment and enrollment, along with nearly 3,000 students and workers participating in recruitment and seeking job opportunities in many industries such as commercial business, real estate business, accounting - auditing...

Regarding the work of creating jobs for workers in the area, Mr. Nguyen Tay Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, said that one of the important solutions is to improve the efficiency of the job exchange system, connecting businesses with workers.

"It is expected that by 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will organize 255 regular, specialized, and mobile job fairs. Accordingly, at the Hanoi Employment Service Center (215 Trung Kinh, Yen Hoa, Cau Giay, Hanoi), there are job fairs every day and each year the center organizes 250-260 sessions, of which the sessions are online interviews to 14 locations in the city, some sessions also connect and interview online to a number of provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region. In addition, in other districts, towns, and cities in the city, mobile job fairs will also be organized, which will bring a lot of jobs to workers," said Mr. Nam.

Manufacturing sector leads demand

According to the report "Summary of Vietnam's labor market in early 2025" based on a survey of both employees and businesses recently announced by Vieclam24h, in the first months of the year, the labor market's recruitment demand increased by 19% compared to the same period in 2024. This survey shows that the industries with the highest recruitment demand include retail and trade, real estate and construction, manufacturing - processing and manufacturing, accounting for nearly 60% of the total number of recruitment positions. In particular, the sales - business industry group continues to lead with more than 20% of recruitment demand, reflecting the trend of businesses promoting market expansion and increasing revenue.

The prominent industries in 2025 are the industry - processing and manufacturing, which recorded a 41% increase in recruitment compared to the same period last year, but still faces a shortage of highly skilled workers. In particular, the textile - footwear - fashion sector has a 7% increase in recruitment demand, but the number of job seekers has decreased by 18%. Next is the real estate and construction industry. Thanks to support policies from the Government, the real estate and construction industry is thriving with a recruitment increase of over 40%. More than 50% of workers in the industry are looking for new job opportunities, creating a strong shift in personnel. The logistics and supply chain industry has a recruitment demand increase of about 35%, but businesses still have difficulty finding candidates with suitable skills.

Meanwhile, according to ManpowerGroup Vietnam (a human resource solutions provider), recruitment demand will increase in many industries in the second quarter of 2025, typically in the manufacturing sector. According to ManpowerGroup Vietnam, since the beginning of the year, the unit has received the most recruitment requests for qualified workers in the industrial and materials sector, including manufacturing (38%), followed by finance and real estate, consumer goods and services, and information technology. Notably, the information technology sector in particular is tending to recruit more in highly specialized and experienced positions to lead digital transformation projects and new technology ideas.

"However, the demand for recruiting young, newly graduated human resources in the information technology field has shown signs of slowing down. The reason for this problem is that businesses are still closely monitoring the economic situation before deciding to expand their human resources, in addition to prioritizing improving the performance of existing staff instead of recruiting new ones," explained Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thanh, Director of Senior Human Resources Recruitment Services in the North, ManpowerGroup Vietnam.
