Dong Thap: Inauguration of the project of the Memorial Area of the Annam Communist Party Cell

On the morning of September 23, in Cao Lanh ward, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Area of the An Nam Communist Party Cell. This is a project to welcome the first Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee. Attending were comrade Le Quoc Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province.

Delegates performed the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Area of the Annam Communist Party Cell.

In October 1929, in the context of the seething revolutionary movement in the South, comrade Pham Huu Lau, an outstanding son of his hometown Hoa An, Cao Lanh, was admitted to the Party, becoming the nucleus leading the local revolutionary movement.

This event contributed significantly to the recognition of the Hoa An Youth Revolutionary Association as the first Annam Communist Party cell in the province, fanning the flames of patriotism and promoting the local revolutionary movement.

The Annam Communist Party Cell is a special party organization with a long and heroic revolutionary tradition.

Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong offered incense to comrade Pham Huu Lau.

From the early days of its founding, when the country was still immersed in the darkness of feudalism and foreign invasion, comrades stood up steadfastly, with ardent patriotism and great sacrifice, contributing to the struggle for national liberation.

To mark this historic milestone, in 1995, Dong Thap province built a memorial stele at Mu U Garden, Hoa An village, where the first party cell was born. In 2001, this place was recognized as a revolutionary historical relic.

With sacred and proud meaning, the project was invested and embellished to become a solemn and large-scale Memorial Area of the An Nam Communist Party Cell, bearing the bold architectural features of the heroic land of Cao Lanh.

Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang spoke at the inauguration ceremony.

“All levels and sectors, especially Cao Lanh ward, continue to pay attention to managing, preserving and promoting the value of the relic; regularly organize practical revolutionary tradition education activities so that this Memorial Site can truly be a place to foster the ideal of dedication for the young generation, while contributing to enriching the country's revolutionary heritage treasure,” Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang suggested.

The project of the Memorial Area of the Communist Party of Annam Branch was invested from the targeted support budget of the province and the former Cao Lanh city budget.

The project is deployed on a land area of more than 5 hectares, with a total investment of 145 billion VND, including 3 main items: The memorial house of the An Nam Communist Party Cell, where valuable artifacts and images of the formation process of the Cell are preserved, along with a solemn space to commemorate comrade Pham Huu Lau - a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution and comrade Tran Thi Nhuong - the first female Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Sa Dec province (now Dong Thap province).

The project also includes the Cao Lanh Traditional House - recreating the history, culture, and qualities of Cao Lanh people through the ages; a symbol of peace ; along with a system of roads, trees, lighting, and auxiliary items. The project is equipped with an exhibition space that combines tradition and modernity.
