US authorities said former President Donald Trump was safe after an apparent assassination attempt on his golf course at around 2 p.m. local time.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is safe after a suspect fired multiple shots at him while he was playing golf at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15.
Sources said the shots were fired from outside the golf course fence. The US Secret Service said it was investigating the incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. local time.
"Former President Trump is safe following a shooting near him. No further details are available at this time," said Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Mr Trump's campaign. Mr Trump was golfing when the shooting occurred.
The White House said in a statement that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had been briefed on the incident and were relieved to learn that Mr Trump was safe.
Mr Trump's son cited local law enforcement as saying they found an AK-47 in the bushes and arrested a suspect.
Secret Service agents took Mr Trump away from the scene to safety shortly after the incident. The local police department said they would hold a press conference about the shooting.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said on September 15 that Mr. Trump appeared to be the target of an assassination plot after a shooting outside his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida (USA).
Speaking at a press conference, law enforcement officials said the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on September 15 (local time).
US officials say they have arrested a suspect found with an AK-47 rifle outside the Trump National golf course.
The suspect fled in a black SUV before being caught by Secret Service agents.
The White House said US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had been informed of the incident and were relieved that Mr. Trump was safe. On social network X, Ms. Harris affirmed that violence has no place in the United States./.
